After seeing Karrde shamelessly plugging ESF I figured I should probably do the same. Some of you probably already know I'm part of a development team working on a post-apocalyptic hybrid FPS/RTS game called Nuclear Dawn. We're up for Indie game of the year on IndieDB, so if you're feeling up to it you can vote HERE.
already voted ;D
Consider it done.  Everyone else should, too.  We should all be supporting eachothers' projects Smile
Bumping this. We should be up for pre-orders today. $25 and $75 for a four pack. Pre-order gives you early access to beta starting late August. We also have a new tutorial video up. Check it out.

Nuclear Dawn - Resource Points Tutorial

EDIT: Pre-Order is live.
Hm...looks interesting, got any more juicy tidbits?

The basic idea is everyone is playing FPS, one person gets elected commander and goes to a bunker and enters the RTS view, builds a base, tells people what to do, orders artillery, research tech, that kind of stuff.

When playing FPS, you get to choose between four classes. General purpose Assault, heavy weapon Exo, sneaky Stealth, and Support (medic, engineer, bbq). Each class has a few sub classes that offer a selection of weapons as well as gizmos as you level up. Stuff like armor piercing rounds, silencers, larger magazines. Each class also has a special ability. Stealths can go invisible, Assaults have a thermal visor that allows them to see cloaked stealths, Exos can lockdown which renders them immobile but gives them pinpoint accuracy, and the different support subclasses have different abilities.

Both RTS and FPS are pretty well fleshed out. Vehicles are planned for in a future patch, most of the art for them is already done.

It will be available for both Mac and PC at launch and I'm told it will also support Garry's Mod, gameME stats, and SourceMod.

Isn't that sort of like that empires mod we played?
Hah, I was wondering how you had already written a steam review for the game. Looks cool though! I'll be sure to pre-order it sometime this week when I've got some spare cash and I'll try to convince some friends to do the same :-*
Interested in getting a 4-pack. Anyone?

Sure did!

It's similar in the sense that they are both FPS/RTS hybrids. ND has less of a learning curve and I would say is more polished, which is to be expected of a commercial product. This question has been a plague on the ND section of the Steam forums.
