Okay... I'm not sure if this interest I have is because I actually think I'll enjoy the game, or if it's just because I can't go 5 minutes without being reminded of it.

Does your friendslist look like a Skyrim orgy too?
Mine sure does.

Also, my housecarl died  :'(

I was gonna marry that bitch, too.

EDIT: Just got the blonde housecarl. I'm 9/10s consoled.
I picked up Uthred the Unbroken in the bar before I got my Housecarl, and I felt bad dumping her so I kept her along. She's not the prettiest gal, but damn if she doesn't like to kick the shit out of bandits.

Through trial and error, I've found the only way to kill the Housecarl/other companions is if you deliver the killing blow while they're down. So be careful with your Shouts, AOE spells, and power attacks.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Vandamguy - 11-14-2011

Yeah this game is p good
went in with no idea which way my character was going to work out. . Ended up a sword n board cleptomaniac
had an 18 hour session on sat and a 14 hour session on Sunday mastered pickpocket and blacksmith
very worth it loads of money to slosh around to level trade skills. Double effective weapons and armor from bs is grrreat
protip for levelling bs is to buy all he iron and leather you can. You can easily get to 100 with iron dagger and leather bracer. Theres a quest with a cube
that will increase bs progress by 15%
Tonight is going to be enchanting.
Im thinking of laddering up some bracers that increase the quality of my enchants. Then wearing them and making another bracer and so on and so on. . I wonder if there's a cap to the % quality increase on enchants

Oh, and they can be killed by enemies, it's just not as likely since they aggro to you after downing the companion. From what I've read, trolls do it a lot.

Fuck trolls.

Skyrim:Cicero's Journal - Volume 1

27th of Rain's Hand, 4E 187 Completed the Arena contract. I ultimately decided to pose as a starstruck fan, and immediately got into the Grand Champion's good graces. While escorting the arrogant fool through the Great Forest, I slashed his throat and left the corpse for the bears.

So yeah... The Adoring Fan...

That's why everyone repeatedly killed him in Oblivion.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - KorJax - 11-15-2011

I'm pretty sure everyone knows there are werewolves in the game by now, but I won't spoil how you can get it.

But basically, its probably the most awesome thing in existence. Considering they said that werewolves aren't in about 4-5 months ago, being a werewolf in skyrim easily trumps the Bloodmoon werewolf power by miles. In bloodmoon, you basically transform into a werewolf instantly, and it basically was the same thing as fighting normally with H2H except with greatly boosted stats, speed, strength, and everyone wants to kill you. You also looked like a wolf creature.

In skyrim (which I totally didn't expect it to be like this), you go through a completely fucking bad ass awesome transformation animation that turns you into a beast form (which is more traditional in werewolf look). Its 3rd person only, but I don't mind because the werewolf animations are incredibly awesome. It's not just stat increases either, you function essentually like you would expect a werewolf too - you can pounce people, you have custom kill animations, you can feed on people to increase your health and your "bloodlust" (the timer that denotes how long you can be one), power attacks knock back foes, you can roar which makes EVERYTHING run in fear from you (apparently there are other roars you can unlock too), your stamina pool is large and it regens super fast, You can literally run faster than a horse for miles, as when you sprint you go on all fours to cover great distances in a sweet animation, bounties you aquire as a werewolf don't apply to your normal form as long as no one sees you transform in/out, etc..

Basically its the best implimentation of werewolfing in any game/mod ever, and it feels awesome. There are downsides though. It's a once a day power that lasts 3 minutes (you can extend it by feeding  on people though, which kind of adds to the fun), you can't loot at all or even use the map, you no longer get resting bonuses in both forms, you only gain skill in one-handed as a werewolf. But who the fuck cares, its fucking awesome. Were-form would go great with a pure mage too, as when times get tough, just transform into a wolf to give the smackdown close range.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Eschatos - 11-15-2011

But can you be a werepire?

Also a note of criticism.  I like how spellcasting works now with dual wielding and dual-casting but I'm quite displeased with the much smaller variety of spells and removal of spell creation.  Instead of having 5 premade versions of every spell in varying degrees of strength + infinite custom versions, most spells have 1-2 versions.  I shouldn't have to wait until having 75 Illusion to get my first invisibility spell.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Reevesith - 11-15-2011

I don't get it, I have a follower that takes on a dragons no problem, but one misstep into my line of fire & I end up stapling their ass to the wall with a arrow :u

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Something Swain - 11-15-2011

So in the seven or so hours I was able to play it I found: a Dwenmer ruin, a weird mask that I managed to equip with a Falmer helmet and now have an invisible head, a spell that summons exploding wolves that are on fire, and the song of storms a dragon shout that summons LIGHTNING STORMS. (The last three are all from one place)
And I'll have to do it all over again when I get a copy of the game. [//]n[//]

I want the storm shout so bad but I don't really know if I wanna ask where it is.

Can you put its location here in spoiler-text?

Where Storm Call is and what you can expect when you're finding it.
It's in the Northern half of the map in the High Gate Ruins nearish to Ustengrav (Cave you go to during main quest) There's also a quest where you escort some lady named Anska through the cave and then fight a stupidly powerful Lich named Vokun, who drops a mask, named Vokun. She also teaches you how to summon exploding wolves that are on fire. P.S. the shout is in the room after Vokun. Vokun Vokun Vokun, exploding wolves, Vokun.
Please correct me if any of this is inaccurate.

But be EXTREMELY CAREFUL where you use it. It's hard to pay your fine when the guard you're trying to pay keeps being zapped by lightning. [//]~[//]

Spell creation doesn't matter to me! I have such a shitty mana pool, I can't even dual cast the 75 instant hp restoration spell! God knows what would happen if I tried to make the "enemies explode" spell in this game.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Greatbacon - 11-16-2011

Oh man, I was traveling on the road to Riften and like 4 random encounters happened at once.  There was this caravan of wealthy Imperial nobles on their way to Solitude for a wedding that I had seen earlier around Whiterun (boy are they lost) and at the same time a prison escort for a stormcloak soldier passed by.  I released the prisoner, fought of his gaurds, then he ran to fight the Imperial guarding the nobles that had went on up the road.  I chase after him and turn the bend only to find that a troll and already destroyed the caravan and was in the process of mangling the prisoner, a wandering bard, and a pilgrim to the shrine of Azara.  It was such an awesome clusterfuck.
