I just noticed that the bottles of Half Pints that I have been enjoying have an IBU value printed on them.
This number is actually in larger font then the alcohol content.

Sitting outside on a hot summer's night eating street hot pot and street barbecued lamb, suddenly Chinese beer makes sense. <3

Re: Beer Thread - HeK - 07-17-2010

So I've been finishing off a few cans of Bud Lite that was left in my fridge by another party. I swear that I've drank soda water with more flavor and better characteristics then this stuff.

In other news, Innis & Gunn is fantastic. Especially Innis & Gunn Canadian Cask. Only available for Canada Day, it's pretty damn good.

First, you should have done advertised this before. We've had advance teams in that location.

Second, http://www.amazon.com/Beer-Drinkers-Guide-Munich/dp/0962855537 (I have two editions of that, it's so boss).

If you are just in the city, literally anyplace with Paulaner or Weinstephan on tap is great. Weinstephan weisebier is the best, and harder to get in the states than most german biers. Believe it or not, the Lowenbrau is excellent when you get it locally as well. If you have a car, I strongly advise a trip to the Andechs monastery, you can get yerself a nice turkey leg, potatoes, and some of the finest local brew.

Above all, go to the viktualianmarkt, near the glockenspiel in the old town hall, have some brews outside, and admire the wares. It's the wrong season for soup, but the munchener zuppenkichen in the viktualianmarkt is not to be beat. I'm not even a soup guy and their soup kicks ass.

Or, head to the Englisher Garten, see topless chicks, see dudes surfin the river, and drink at the chinese tower or Seahaus (also has Paulaner).

PROUST!

Nabbed the last of this:

Single batch, one off.
Oak Aged in Crown Royal casks for 6 months.

A sweet and spicy ale with a kick.

PS, that's a 650ml bottle. It's a giant beer.

I'm pretty sure I had one of those Innis beers. Man was it good, but goddamn expensive. Way to high priced for my budget

Double Crooked Tree IPA by Dark Horse is good stuff.  13.6%

Also recently had the Avery Maharaja IPA.  Very good as well.

You know, I should start a beer review bit for the front page.  I driunk enough different kinds.

Describe it, I might know it.  My tastes sometimes run expensive.  And how expensive are we talking?

I was a drunk College student. As long as it wasn't piss I didn't care. All I remember is that the bottle was different looking
