Buying this this afternoon. Cant wait any longer. Im thinking about going dual-wield or archery. Any thoughtsÉ

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Luinbariel - 11-20-2011

I will be playing this this week... Hopefully.  Maybe even tonight.

What is visual character customizability like?

Better than Oblivion by far. 'Course, I usually play in 1st person, so it don't matter that much to me, but it's still an improvement.

@Thunder:

I can't speak for dual wield, but Archery is actually pretty fun. I use it quite a bit before people get in range of my 2 hander.

It's quite solid.  There's no pure value scale for adjusting chin depth or nose shape, but there's enough variety in the parts they do give you to make something look fairly unique.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Luinbariel - 11-20-2011

Can I make a chick, or is this a sausage party?

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Maxon - 11-20-2011

I made a chick character.  If I'm gonna spend 50+ hours playing a game, I'd rather spend that time look at a female butt than a male butt :o

This is why I roll girls.

Unless it's EQ2, then I roll a male rat.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Dr. Zaius - 11-20-2011

Ugh... they still haven't fixed the 'you can't drop useless quest items' bit. Gonna have to look up a million console comands and item ids to drop some of this shit.

I probably have 15 pounds of useless items on me that can't be dropped.

And about rolling chick characters... I play first person pretty much all day so it doesn't really matter to me. The housecarls have been chicks this far too, so there's that.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Mission Difficult - 11-20-2011

Favorite quest so far is the drinking contest in Riften.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Reevesith - 11-20-2011

weird, was doing the Missing in Action quest & they wouldn't stop following me unless I left Northwatch keep the back way with the key & door :/ hate it when NPC that are following but not enough to sneak with you.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Luinbariel - 11-20-2011

Oh god I can explore all the places and pick all the flowers.

Yes, this is what I do in games.

Do not be ashamed.

It's what I do, too...

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Trace - 11-20-2011

Had my quest giver hype up this last assasination contract as being the toughest yet.
I proceed to the pirate ship, walk past the crew only to have them say "You're not supposed to be here". I then walk down some stairs only to find my target(the captain) sitting all alone in a chair. I proceed to backstab crit her for 30X damage, then I calmly exit the ship
8)

lol

Alchemy makes bank when you start filling out all the common ingredient effects. Like I don't even sell shit anymore because it would take too long to travel/wait for merchants to have enough money for it.

Oh god I'm just a hoarder now.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Bonesinger - 11-21-2011

RIP Lydia; Forever stuck inside Shalidor's Maze. Looks like I'm gonna have to go pick up Erandur or that one bodyguard khajiit from the caravan.

So I guess as a word of caution leave your companion outside if you're headed into Shalidor's Maze.

Not sure what the situation there is like, but when I cross rough terrain (Read; Mountains Bethesda wanted you to go around instead of over.) I wait a few hours once I get back onto ground NPCs can reliably use, does a sort of auto update thing, and your companion is back with you again.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Luinbariel - 11-21-2011

Here's a question for you that always plagues me about this type of game.

WHY THE FUCK DO SKELETONS HAVE MONEY?

Why, when I search skeletons, do I find coins? This baffles and confuses me.
