What problem? I don't see any problems. None whatsoever.

Tried some latitude 33 coconut on rye stout. It's good overall, but the coconut flavor doesn't really blend all that well with the rest of the flavor profile. It's only noticeable if you're looking for it and is focused  in the aroma and at the very front, and then again as a faint aftertaste.

I think I'll stick with coffee or chocolate in my stouts/porters.

TLDR: FUCKING DELICIOUS.

I didn't realize when I picked it up that this was a coffee stout.  It was kinda a "hmm, mildly interesting, I'll take it" purchase as I walked past a display towards the register at Le Fabled Liquor Barn.    I took the first sip and then realized it, because fuck reading the bottle.  Anyways, amazingly creaming, rich flavors, very little bitterness, just deliciousness.  Easily Alltech brewing's best product.  $12 for a four pack (yeah, steep, but I'd still get more) here in Lexington.  Your mileage may vary, or be completely non-existent.  If you can find it, try it.

Helix went so far as to take some mocha coffee ice cream and make an icebeercream float.

That's a really good idea.

Re: Beer Thread - at0m - 03-25-2013

So I get to go on a tour of the Sweet Water brewery tonight. They will have free samples.

Re: Beer Thread - rumsfald - 03-25-2013

So, I didn't know that the NCAA basketball tourneys require they stadiums to stay dry. Neither did like half the other attendees, by my sociological observations.

Luckily, I run with a sufficient number of hooligans that we managed both games to liberate booze from the private club boxes (yes, fuck you-one-percenters).

Re: Beer Thread - A. Crow - 03-25-2013

Versus's father misses that booze.

Re: Beer Thread - kaese - 03-28-2013

Left Hand's Java Lava is very nice! Left Hand's Milk Stout (Nitro) is also very nice!
I'm starting to think everything by Left Hand is going to be very tasty.

Re: Beer Thread - Didzo - 05-02-2013

If you like your beers dark, thick, bitter, and with plenty of coffee flavor, you can't go wrong with Yeti Great Divide Imperial Stout. Solid stuff.

Re: Beer Thread - at0m - 05-15-2013

So according to this article, there's a Pandora for beer

The red ale smells like shitty American beer, but is pretty Damn Tasty. The coconut porter smells like chocolate and tastes like happy in a can.

TIL, at0m has discovered he likes beer.

Welcome, my friend.

Re: Beer Thread - at0m - 07-21-2013

It's been a gradual process. I still don't like most beer, and as good as that sour ale was, it wasn't worth the $9 pricetag.
