Also, the hallucinogen which is contained within the normal absenth (i.e. the stuff that van gough cut his ear over), is actually so minute in the dilution that you would actually have to kill yourself in alcohol poisoning to even feel the effects of the wormwood.

This does not change the fact that it is twice the proof of normal spirits and could make you see things in enough qualities.

Additional, i do believe that different spirits give different effects.  For example:

Tequilia = crazy bitch (maybe regretful sex)

Whiskey = mellow night and or non regretful sex

Vodka = a vomit night 3 drinks earlier than you might be used to.

etc.

Re: The Drunk Thread - A. Crow - 05-26-2009

So, someone here might be able to relate.  I definitely had one of my PFCs follow me into the restroom after I left the champagne room at the strip club tonight, yelling "HEY LT!"  It was odd taking a piss while he was trying to jog my memory as to who the hell he was.  It turns out he wasn't the only one of my soldiers to be present.  I felt obligated to have them comp'd up to the VIP area with me, as I'd definitely spent enough money to make this a reality.  After sobering up, I feel this might have been a bad idea, and, should I already have been commissioned, a discipline worthy offense.  So, should I feel bad about the shots I offered they take from betwixt the tits' of the small army of strippers following me around tonight?  God knows they couldn't afford it on their own...

Depends on the culture of your crew/corps and how hardass your CO is/will be. That sort of behavior could be read strictly by the JAGs and protocol officers as fraternization, while the same behavior will practically get you a medal in among the flying and combat crews.

Since you're not in yet, don't sweat it. It doesn't count till you take your real officer's oath after officer training. (well, it does count a little, if you are already on reserve status leading up to basic and get busted for selling coke surely they would press that).

(05-25-2009, 11:25 PM)peaches link Wrote: 'Tis placebo. Don't know about Lucid... I think that stuff's the genuine article, but Absente, she's a tricksome knave. Made from a driffent type of wormood than your traditional absinthe, the American rather than European variety which does not, repeat, does not contain the hallucinogen.

I read up on it before when I was more curious about absinthe (fortunately my $75 worth of curiosity has abated so I won't be breaking my wallet just yet) and this lucid company contracted this particular guy who was a major absinthe affectionado and used his skills in his paid trade (chemical engineering) to conduct a bit of alcohol anthropology and recreate the original absinthe as best as possible.  As you may know with the "green fairy" scare absinthe was pretty much discontinued for a period and a lot of brewing methods were lost.  His current belief is that original Absinthe had far less Thujone (the poisonous yet hallucinogenic chemical in absinthe) than was believed.  This helped him when Lucid asked him to create a variant of absinthe that was legal in the US yet as close to the original as possible (US recently "legalized" absinthe that has extremely low quantities of Thujone).

Now all you euro ravers had been pushing an arms race in Thujone in Absinthe because of the believed hallucinogenic properties.  It was considered de facto that Absinthe had a lot because of the "green fairy" slander campaign that was run against it and the fact Thujone was the most likely candidate to produce these effects.  Now it seems the evidence shows otherwise and it was just a bunch of hullabaloo to get Absinthe banned in the first place.

Also marijuana does not make you rape our young womens.
