thank god

Re: APB - KarthXLR - 07-13-2010

I swear they have no idea how to balance guns.

especially because you can just reduce your threat level by losing some missions then go ahead griefing on low levels.

Re: APB - PyroZombie - 07-13-2010

is this any good?

Re: APB - copulatingduck - 07-13-2010

that's what I keep wondering

Re: APB - Vandamguy - 07-13-2010

As much as I'd like to have more BRB'rs to play with , I'd say hold off on this until they resolve the issues in this game. Imbalanced matchmaking and rampant cheating in this game is really ruining it for legit or casual players.

We''re already underway on a major overhaul to vehicle handling to make cars more responsive and less slippy overall. You''ll still be able to power slide around corners in stylish fashion, but steering is more responsive overall and easier to get the hang of early on.

Damn, I like being able to out drive my chase targets, and catching them when they fuckup and crash.

Hopefully this fixes a few cars that have issues with starting off.  The Jericho, while a nice car, has pretty stiff handling and when starting off and needing to do turns, it doesn't respond as well as it should.  Then cars like the regular muscle car will roll on almost any hard turn lol

wow not being able to choose who you fight sounds so bad

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Re: APB - Maxon - 07-13-2010

They didn't address the fact that simply going by threat levels is a bad idea.  Someone could be a level 10 or 11 and be like 200+.  I'll usually sit around 9 to 11, but I'm like 120 and I'm not decked out in crazy gear beyond my level.

It'll be interesting to see if this actually makes anything better, but it doesn't give me hope that now we are forced into everything given.  I don't know though, maybe it'll be better when you say that 4 person dispatch and want to join it, but not sure if you'll get a group that will suck or if you will get a group at all.

And yes for the bounty mission removal.  I don't mind them sometimes, but they are frustrating.

Re: APB - Vandamguy - 07-13-2010

cars handle fine as is from what i know , most of the time its people with low spec systems that cant load that much info on the fly having their system stutter while they're pressing 'd' and causing them to nosedive into a building because their client didn't send the signal that they aren't pressing the button anymore.
regarding the Jericho I know what you mean about its stiff handling. I got in James' and I like to think I'm a pretty decent driver , but I couldn't make it do shit to the point of me getting out and having James drive instead.
got one of my own (The Jailbird) and figured it out now. It's a Rear wheel drive car .. dont use the handbrake for anything , its p useless. if you need to make a tight corner tap the brakes a bit , the car is remarkably fast at recovering its momentum.

re matchmaking : i still think they should sort people into districts based on their threat level 1-5 , 6-10, 11-15 . but i guess that would mess with grouping with friends ... ? .. oh well i hope they remove the small reward you get for losing a mission when you've contributed absolutely nothing. otherwise we'll just have people idling in action districts farming rep.

They could leave bounty missions in still , I thought that they could stop the timer if you're chasing them and close enough to be sight range. or change the rules completely and make it deathmatch instead of escape.

Re: APB - HeK - 07-13-2010

I feel the biggest issue with the cars is that everyone expects this to be like Need for speed. You can't pick up some pos daily driver minivan with worn tires, airy brakes and tired engine and expect it to drive like an F1 car.
Everything in the game that isn't a personal vehicle should act like a giant turd on wheels, and you have to prepare for that when you drive.

This means LOTS of breaking for turns, no lateral grip, massive under-steering, etc.

Re: APB - Turtle - 07-13-2010

well that kinda owned

if you play with karth prepare for lulz

Re: APB - KarthXLR - 07-13-2010

You can't prepare, you can only hope.
