That boarding a very large person in a wheelchair in to a lift bus is very tiring work.

And also that paychecks feel better when you've gone a long time without them.

Exercise is much easier to get into when you have plenty of time to plan it.

Also, it feels good to try and improve something about myself.

Apparently if you stand at attention for too long, you may pass out.

Learnt this after watching several people do so during the change of command parade yesterday.

I'm no medic, I just read too many books.
Standing still too long taxes the heart and it has to work harder to pump blood up and down your body, fighting gravity. Eventually less blood reaches the heart and you pass out, falling into prone and giving the heart an easier time of oxygenating the three pounds of thinking meat inside your head. Of course binding someone forced into an upright position for days at a time will eventually kill them; go into a church to see the best example of this punishment.
One way to counter passing out is by flexing the leg muscles to help push blood up the veins. The one way valves in the veins ensure that when you squeeze blood through the veins, the blood will always go up, towards the lungs. Another key is by contracting the abdomen fully while breathing out, to force oxygenated blood out of the thorax to the head. But if you lock your knees, then flexing the leg muscles is painful, so you stand ramrod straight for hours and then your body reboots. *clunk*

Extension to lockout cuts off circulation via some major artery down there, and restricts blood from flowing back to the brain. Turns out, brain doesn't function so well without blood flow, kinda like if someone were to cut out half of a lung and tell you to breathe deep, that wouldn't work so well either

This. essentially the fact that you're tensing up muscles. It causes your body to lock up and your oxygen intake gets lower and lower. Good ole marching band and drumcorp focus training..woot woot.

...holy crap!

My favorite part was
"Oh so the general played this guitar?"
"No, the actors and actresses played it, but the Great Leader saw it."
(paraphrase)

I learned working from home is indeed awesome, except when the network drives break for 2 hours, except in that instance....they wouldn't have worked in the office either.

What I already knew:

Sometimes people will walk into restaurants after they close because they can't read shit.

What I learned this week:

Some people, upon being told the restaurant is closed, will leave, and turn right back around and ask for food anyway.

It reflects really badly on me when I say "No that wasn't racist." I know it's Wednesday but I learned that lesson extra hard so I'm posting it here.
