I'm glad we aren't the only country that tries to make other countries stuff and pretend our version is better.

Re: Beer Thread - cannedpeahes - 11-14-2008

Why you can't just drink Molson and Labatt like a normal Canadian perplexes me.

I am not one of those... uh... sovereignists?

I like my Canada, but Molson and Labatt are not close to being edible to me.

Now get back in the woods and make me a beaver pelt, betch.

Re: Beer Thread - rumsfald - 11-15-2008

I'm stoked, a tappas place opened up this week 4 blocks from my house and they have Chimay on tap.

[Image: maudite-lafindumonde.jpg] this man knows his beer, hint, this man is not benito(he's not me either but at least  i drink the same stuff)

Everything Unibroue basically. Tough quebecer shit.

but when i just want to get pissed drunk i'll go for molson dry or labatt blue, cheval blanc rickards or boréale . I also hate coor's light and other light beers, it's impossible to get drunk on those, they also taste water and i despise water.

The guy at the counter said "boy if you like hops lemme tell you, get a fork and a knife for this, you're gonna love it!" About as much as Hoptimus Prime (I haven't had it, but a friend of mine has and says it's about the same).

Hop Devil is great, and I've been drinking it a lot lately as one of my regular bars now has it on tap.

Re: Beer Thread - Surf314 - 12-03-2008

I had a bell's sparkling ale and oberon.  They were both good but I ended up reversing my opinions.  At first I liked the oberon better but then decided my favorite was the sparkling ale.

The sparkling ale is like a lighter version of a Belgian ale.

Was it any good? What did you think?

Historically, I have been partial to ratebeer.com for my reviews, but I just popped on and their new site design looks like asshole (no offense, Maj Angry).

Anyways, for almost the past year now I have been drinking 3 Monts regularly.

http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/st-sylvestre-3-monts/7321/

Not the highest rated, but I don't think I've ever had a better, easy-drinking, anytime beer.

I thought it was pretty good, not the most amazing beer Ive ever had, but not bad by any stretch of the means. I wouldnt say its something that you could have several of in a row either

Re: Beer Thread - Mr. Face - 01-25-2009

You know who's always there for you when your down and out?

Jack Daniels!!!! Big Grin

Re: Beer Thread - Surf314 - 01-26-2009

I had the Sam Adam's White seasonal ale and it was good, Hoegaarden is better though.  Also Chimay is fucking fantastic.  I think I liked the white label triple the best.

Re: Beer Thread - Luca Shoal - 01-26-2009

fuck beer >:C. Well, other than Blue Moon (only tried their Autumn Harvest so far tho which was good)

Woodchuck Granny Smith Hard Cider is delicious.

Re: Beer Thread - Tragic Hero - 03-20-2009

Thread Revival?

So yeah I just had my first encounter with this dangerous beer last weekend:

Carlsberg beer is the "Sneakiest" beer I have ever drank.  Not only being dangerously tasty but I downed about 3 of these with no problem but within an hour or two later, compounded with 3 more, the after effects finally caught up to me leading to a very hung over tragic hero the next morning.

Beware when drinking this.

Re: Beer Thread - Surf314 - 03-21-2009

The new Sam Adams Imperial collection is really good.  I'd recommend the Imperial White.

Re: Beer Thread - Dave - 03-22-2009

fosters is shit and does not get you drunk

stella, carling, 5 shots or green shit, strongbow, magners and a somosa cocktail does get me drunk.
