I'm adding Rice Risotto to this list.
As opposed to potato risotto?
[/quote]Or bread risotto?

But for srs, you can do risotto style with other grains. But they're called as such, like...quinoa risotto. Risotto refers to the traditional arborio rice kind.

Saying Rice Risotto is like saying Beef Hamburgers and Cucumber Pickles.

Risotto refers to the cooking method. Not the grain involved  Tongue

Google = a rice dish

Epicurious = a rice specialty

Dictionary.com = a rice dish

wiki = a rice dish

cooks.com = first 20 results all involve...wait for it...rice

You keep using that word.

yeah, luca, sure you can make quinoa or beans or other starches with risotto techniques, but that's not "risotto." That's quinoa made in the style of risotto. Just like soy burgers are not really hamburgers they are just soy made with hamburger techniques (versus and duck are with me here). And vegan cheese is real not cheese.

You don't say "dairy cheese," or "japanese sushi," or "potato french fries," or "flour cake," or "alcoholic beer," or "snail escargot," or "baked pizza." So why say "rice risotto"?

I'll be making some AMAZING ropa vieja on Thursday in my crock pot Smile  Fried capers included (Surf is weirdly obsessed with these)!

I'll take some pics of the final product Smile

Made Shepard Pie today. Oh god it was amazing.

It's essentially Pot Pie but like 15 times better.

That's what I meant rummy, et al. I just couldn't think of the words because I couldn't brain.

Also, Kurf :V. If you used ground beef, then it was cottage pie. Shepherd's pie uses lamb.

Re: Favorite food/recipes - rumsfald - 05-28-2010

ropa looks great. But paper plates is neither very environmental nor very hipster. I am disappoint.

After all, we all know that you possess the feminine charms to make surf do the dishes.
