Re: Beer Thread - ThunderStain - 10-30-2009

Does anybody here have experience with those heineken mini-kegs? Ive been told they taste dirty but I still want to try one.

Re: Beer Thread - copulatingduck - 10-30-2009

theyre nasty

full disclosure: I found it under a couch abandoned so I took it, stuck it in the freezer for a bit and drank it, so I can hardly complain about the flavor

Re: Beer Thread - Surf314 - 10-30-2009

I dislike Heinekin

Re: Beer Thread - ThunderStain - 11-01-2009

UPDATE: I really love Heineken

Re: Beer Thread - Luca Shoal - 11-01-2009

I have not posted here yet :o.

Killian's Irish Red and Guinness (especially 250 or Extra Stout) are delicious. Blue Moon is kinda gross.

Apparently I am entering a phase of liking hoppy and bitter ale.

Re: Beer Thread - copulatingduck - 11-02-2009

"If you like hops, grab a knife and a fork because you're gonna love this stuff."

That's what one of the guys that worked at Supreme Liquor in Cambridge told me about that stuff. He was right on the money

Re: Beer Thread - ThunderStain - 11-05-2009

Yes.

I'm not the best person to ask about it though, 'cause I dislike the taste of black licorice. Specifically it's the anise that I dislike, but all the same I've had a few shots here and there, and there's a bottle in our fridge.

HeK's got a smaller bottle that a friend recently brought from India, he says it's actually quite good.

Re: Beer Thread - ainmosni - 11-06-2009

At the moment I'm drinking LaChouffe a lot... Great belgian beer but there are so many great belgian beers. Also Surf, that oldest brewery map has loads of omissions. I've had beer from a lot of breweries which were founded around 1000, Weihenstephan isn't the only one. Weird that they missed so many with the oldest brewery map.

My wife loves LaChouffe and got me to try it, it is really really good. It also has a cute bottle.

LaChouffe means "the gnome" in french, that might explain the bottle.

Absinthe is pretty popular in my res here. My good buddy drinks it regularly, and tends to suffer from memory blackout after 5-6 shots. I presonally can't stand the taste of it, as I hate Black Liqorice.

Now, Cinnamon Whiskey, that I love

What happened to this thread? Needs a bump.

Just uploaded some pictures from my camera and found this.

One of my all time favorite beers, Russian River's Pliny the Elder:

Best lacing I've ever seen.

Re: Beer Thread - Dtrain323i - 03-31-2010

I usually stick with Sam Adams for beer. But there are a few microbrews around here that I really enjoy. I've also gotten into Shiner Bock recently. For my regular drinking though, I stick with Irish Whiskey. Either Bushmills or Jameson. Both are excellent whiskeys.

Re: Beer Thread - exanimo2 - 04-01-2010

So I was browsing my local market and I saw an interesting Chinese beer I've never tried before. Now I haven't had a stout in months and was really in the mood for one, so when I saw a can of beer that said "Stout Beer" on it, I thought I'd give it a go. I'm lucky I only got one because it was the worst beer that I've ever tasted. Ever. It was also the first beer that I've ever had to actually dump out. Tasted like burnt malt and sewage water.

Avoid at all costs: Guangdong's Blue Ribbon Group Stout Beer.
Best Chinese beer I've had yet (Not saying much): Harbin Beer.

I guess beers with Blue Ribbon's are universally shitty in any country.
