Forthcoming free-to-play PvP clicky clicky game. Some say it plays like DotA (I've never played) or Demi-god (uh, the demi-god demo is so slow and bad). Personally, I find the unique combat matchups to remind me of Star Control II. It's in beta if you can find a key.

Yeah I need to hear more things about it. Its from the makers of DOTA which is a good thing but I don't want to buy a game in the future if its going to have less heroes and balancing issues right off the bat.

It's Free-to-Play. They claim that the paid content will only be cosmetic and not affect gameplay.

When it goes live you will start with like 6 or 8 and unlock from there, but they claim the unlocks will go fast. So far I get one level per won match.

To be fair, with SC2 a whole bunch of ships are near useless against many other ships. Ur Quan, Kor Ah, and Chmmr are really quite overpowered against many other ships. Maybe if all ships had the same amount of crew...
I think I might have gotten a beta invite for LoL but wasn't interested at the time. Will definitely try and find it now.

They cost a lot of points in supermelee, though. I usually just brought four Shofixti for suicide runs into a given Avatar's zapsats, heh. The Orz Nemesis could do a decent job, if you set the howitzer at an angle to the rear so you could orbit against the Avatar's gravity and plunk at satellites. The Chenjesu ship's crystal projectiles were good as well, but that's a heavy ship too. Also, UTWIG. (Uh, Jugger?)

Found it weird on how it depended on factors outside of the actual game to do better. I also heard that the matchmaking system is terrible.

I have keys for both. Though I have installed HoN, I've not played it because I find LoL to be more than fun enough for my fun quotient. I generally do not like RTS games because I find them tedious, and I find the idea of denying creeps (as you must do in DoTA and HoN) to be un-intuitive and a chore.
Thus, as you can see, I am masturbating here. HoN already has it's own thread....go masturbate there (i.e., bump your own thread), but please don't crap on my thread.
