There is a difference between CC that is purpose oriented (escaping, interrupting, chasing, etc.) and CC that just becomes a mechanic to not have to fight certain champs. All you'd have to do to make it reasonable is make some changes to prevent it from being the focus of the game. In LoL CC wins games and I personally don't enjoy using CC and would like to be able to play without that handicapping myself. In other words I would like to be able to play non-CC champs without feeling like I'm going to make the team lose.

I honestly think in the current metagame CC is the most important aspect of your team composition.

Edit: I think I'm just going to rock quicksilver sash on every champ that isn't gangplank from now on.

Merc treads, banshee's veil, quiksilver sash, zhonya's hourglass. All legitimate items to avoid stuns.
Also play kennen and teemo with ghost and flash as summoner skills. Super GTFO status.

teams that rely heavily on cc have very little damage typically.
build defenses to counter it.

dota and lol are games that require you to think. don't play the most fragile ad carry with no escapes if you have a team that can shut you down long enough to run to the moon and back.

watch some competitive games and replays if you want to learn

if you're a priority target "ranged ad or ap burst", and you're getting cc'd to death, that's your fault. it's your fault for initiating on an enemy team when all their abilities are off cooldown. it's your fault for getting caught out of position.

sure, this makes the game "not fun" but that's the nature of a competitive game. learn the ranges, costs, and cooldowns of important abilities. be aware of your location relative to your enemies and your allies.

alternatively you can play draft mode  so that you and your team can see what's coming and pick/build accordingly

I don't play League Of Legends but I thought this video was very relevant. As you can see CC stuns/snares are completely fair and are a sign of well thought out game design mechanics [1]

lol it gets more challenging to defeat your enemy at their spawn for a reason (to prevent camping)
like that just bolstered my argument beyond the design issues present (namely instant refresh of ability), it makes something relatively uncounterable/incredibly difficult to counter (spawn camping) and makes it counterable

Maybe it's just from playing solo queue but I've just been frustrated lately at how much CC wins games. The last game I played we went from a 20 kill and 3-4 tower to no tower advantage to a loss and it was entirely due to the other team having more CC and especially the massive CC of fiddle. And I was playing Xerath and always at the back but their team still managed to get past everyone and CC me to death everytime. I've been having too many games like that lately and it's been pissing me off.

So maybe I should restrict my argument to CC in normal solo is unbalanced.
