Honestly, I'm not sure. Production is called "Dead in 5 Heartbeats". Supposedly it's based on a book. Roze emailed me and asked if I was interested in interning for the shoot, so I said yeah. I won't be available for most of it due to work, but I'm trying to be there whenever I can.

go full face, brain buckets are next to worthless unless you're constructing additional pylons
as far as protective gear goes, I prefer armored textile over leather for various reasons.

Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - Kirby - 05-21-2012

Pulling a LEFT HAND turn into my driveway coming home from work, stupid little impudent teenage girl who's been tailgating me for a few miles decides she doesn't want to wait for me to make the turn and attempts to pass me on THE LEFT SIDE.

I see her just in time in my left door mirror, crank it to the right and pop my brakes, she locks hers up and slides into my drivers side rear bumper cover, puts the cost of a new plastic bumper cover / paint worth of damage into it.

Call the po-lice to report accident, officer calls my cell a bit later and says we'll just need to exchange insurance info and whatnot because it's under the $1000 reportable threshold, so I write my shit down and walk over to her house (Next door neighbor) and her and her grandfather come out (White trash family fyi) and they hem and haw around and say they don't have to give me their info because it's less than $1000 and there's no police report needed.

I calmly explain that no, that is not the case - regardless of the damage cost, insurance information MUST be exchanged. They bullshit around some more and after about 5 minutes of listening to them prattle on about some white trash bullshit law expertise, I cut them off and state "Either give me your insurance information, right now, or an officer will be swinging by to collect it for me. Refusing to provide it to me personally is against the law." and they become quite incensed and start hooping and hollering about how I need to get out of their dooryard or they're calling the police on me for trespassing, so I walk back home and call the trooper's cell whom I spoke to prior to going over there, and he said he'll be by in a little bit.

He comes by, checks out my car and I give him the 411 on what happened, and as soon as I point out exactly what one of my neighbors it is, he immediately sighs in resigned realization of why I wasn't able to obtain their insurance information and tells me I don't even need to say anything else, and drives over to their house.

About 5 minutes later he's back with their insurance info, I walk over to his car and ask what's the good news, he turns to me and says "It's pretty amazing, you know? I show up and imagine that, I have exactly no problems whatsoever getting compliance out of them, it's really quite amazing."

Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - at0m - 05-21-2012

So the trooper's been to their house before, I take it.

Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - Kirby - 05-21-2012

I live in a town of ~2000 people, our police department is the County Sheriffs because our town couldn't remotely afford our own department.

County now just about refuses to send any units to the neighbors in front of us (the ones in this incident) and the drug house behind us, because they've been to both so many times and every one of their officers is at their wits end with both families. Instead they relay calls to the State Police who send units to those houses now.

So yeah, they have a passing familiarity with them. The police know every member of the family up front by name across 4 generations.

Because all 4 generations live in that 3 bedroom house. And the car the girl was driving? That car is the summation of the automobiles owned by all 4 generations. b)
