Eating toast in bed really hungover, thought I was living the dream and then suddenly, crumbs.

My alarm failed to go off this morning. I got to work on time but didn't have time to shower.

Doctors still aren't sure what's causing my dad's RBC to drop, they're going to give him iron infusions to try to help. One doctor thinks its a bleeding ulcer, and gave him something for that, but I think they're guessing at this point.

Oh, and in the course of scanning for that problem, they noticed there are some more spots of cancer on his brain. Nine of them. They're going to irradiate his whole head now, then put him on biochemotherapy. Which is the shit he's been going through already (immunotherapy, which has pretty terrible side effects), plus chemotherapy (even worse side effects). And I found out about this via email since I'm in Germany and can't talk to anyone about it because they're telling my siblings this weekend.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFf

Oh and I got screwed into working Sunday, so my original plans to hang out with Ain had to get scrapped and I'm going to whip something together tomorrow on the fly, basically. JAWESOME. All I really want to do is get black out drunk and pass out on a park bench and not wake up until it's time to fly home. I'm hoping being with friends will help.

One of my good friends apparently had a psychotic break sometime within the last month-or-so. A serious one apparently.

I really don't know what to do with this. I was told by another good, yet extremely busy friend, so I don't want to just dive into this, but there are parts of me that tells me to talk to him about it , because I have had experience with this before, with another friend who is now better, and a too-close-for-comfort moment in the past for me. The reason I haven't already is that I know him to be a stubborn mule of a human being, and he didn't tell me so I don't know if he wants me to know just yet

So, now, he's on anti-depressants. This entire situation scares the shit out of me for two reasons; 1, I know the side-effects of anti-depressants, and I know the biggest one to worry about. And I'm keeping the word out of my mind, because I live by Murphy's Law a lot these days, and I'm hoping if I sidestep it, Murphy won't be a cocksucker just this once. I know it's a fucking unreasonable thought process, just let me fucking think it. And 2, He is or was, I don't know anymore, one of the only I've met who I find to be strong mentally. Now, I don't mean smart, even though he is smart. I mean, he is/was(I don't know anymore) one of the most mentally-unshakable people I've ever met, I mean he is almost a EMT for Christ's sake, someone who has seen the shit, The real shit, The "dead, dying and bleeding" shit. What scares me is, If he can break like this, then what hope is there for anyone of staying unbroken?

The hardest materials crack under pressure..

Everyone has there limits, and you can never truly know what's going on inside a person behind the masks they construct.

A few years ago I found out that one of my good friends from elementary school was on the roof of his three-story house threatening to jump. He grew up on the streets of Vietnam living day to day until he was adopted.
He spend a few years in a school where he was always supervised, and now he's finishing up his last year of community college and getting ready to join the Army.

Basically, a shitty situation turned completely around. Good luck to you and your friend.

Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Eightball - 02-27-2011

While closing the blinds, the entire shade rack detached and cut a long gash in my forearm. It's maybe 4 inches in length, but hopefully narrow enough that I won't need stitches. Apparently the top panel is only held loosely in place, and the rack itself is not even secured with screws or anything similar. It costs ~$8000 (~$12500 including board) to live in the residence halls, and they can't afford functional blinds, desks, pipes, or fire alarms (yes, fire alarms). This marks the second consecutive year I've had a substantial injury due to defective furniture supplied by the university. Last year I suffered a concussion when, while trying to fix a broken drawer that would not open, the bookshelf hutch of my desk detached (it was not held in with screws either, purely gravity) and fell on my face.

Definitely moving off-campus next year. I don't care where.

He goes to Northwestern, a school that should be able to afford functioning furniture
