If it were as easy as talking or willing myself out of it all of the time, I'd do that. But it isn't just as easy as "getting over it" sometimes. There's a lot of shit I'm facing and my life is changing a lot (and no I'm not talking about the first world cheese problem, which was solved anyway). I'm talking about everything else.

Maybe I'll try it, not sure. I had the chance two weeks ago but I turned it down (weed). If I wanted it again I can just ask my co worker I guess. I'm trying to reduce my stress as much as I can on my own first, and I can see changes in my skin flare up that are indicating it is (slowly) working. Just gotta stop fucking gritting my teeth all the time.
Ever try meditation?
Yes. I meditate regularly. It helps somewhat. But it isn't enough.
Try to do it more often, the more stressed I get the better meditating helps. It just takes patience when you are super high strung like you are describing now.

Oh and instead of clearing out one emotion just strengthen another, like being relaxed and not giving a shit unless you KNOW it's needed.
I do regularly meditate already, like just about every night before bed. I guess I could do a few times a day.
Would not hurt.

The man throws away whole uneaten what-a-burger meals when he buys too many, so it can't be all bad.

And yea, some kind of reflection/meditation before bed can be very good, just to clear your head before you pass out.

I'm going to be honest; I wasn't about to do my meditation any differently. I already do, as I said, meditation every night for at least half an hour before bed. Sometimes twice a day if I'm doing something else at the altar or what have you or just for fun.

If anything I should be doing more Reiki, on myself and on others. It's quite relaxing, but I will have to MAKE time for this, as I can't do it before/in bed without waking HeK up.

You probably already know this, but I learned the importance of breathing in a certain kind of way when meditating when I was doing Kung Fu. Then that was backed up by some guy who was a hybrid natureopathic/actual doctor I saw on the TV talking about how important it is.

Breathing a certain way?

Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Luinbariel - 08-26-2011

For some folks, meditation is easier when breathing is controlled in specific ways. There are as many styles/schools of meditation as there are people if you ask me, but it CAN be helpful if you prefer focusing that way.

If you find you're having a hard time controlling your thoughts or just shutting them down, then focusing on breathing is a good way to sort of get that control of yourself. It's a lot easier to focus on something, such as "in... out. In... out" or whatever. Some folks focus on candles in stead of breathing (candle meditation), some use chakras or energy centers in their body (that's what I do, focus on their feelings, the colors associated with them, and what each energy center is said to be good for).

Etc etc etc, really. There are a TON of ways to do things.

My method is jerking off then going to sleep. I don't know about the rest of you but cumming centers me.

Funny/Traumatic story from college: My roommate and I had bunk beds since that was the only way to fit the damn things in the dorm room. One night be brought home a hogbeast from some party. I was on the top bunk while he and shamu were on the bottom. Both beds were shaking to the point that I was concerned that metal and wood were going to start snapping in two.

I fucked the same girl 2 weeks later...........not really

Besides what Luin said you can also focus on taking deeper breaths each time. You breath slowly and try to breath down not out, like imagine the air expanding your lungs towards your pelvis but try not to let your chest expand. This works out your diaphragm too. In addition to this we would also hold our arms out like we had them wrapped around a giant ball, with every breath out you pretend like you are inflating the ball. Eventually you can rest your arms on your imaginary ball, it is pretty cool.

Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Luinbariel - 08-27-2011

Wow, so this just keeps getting more and more... fun.

Over the years I've had some interesting dreams and I've shared them with some friends online. I'm so glad right now that they're strictly online friends because I believe they have literally gone crazy.

They think that this character that recurs in my dreams is an actual literal demon and that it's trying to possess me. I told them a long time ago to fuck right off with that craziness, but apparently they have not stopped and they've been "watching me" to see what's going on. They've been going around asking all my other online friends they can find if I've been "different" lately or "more angry".

Uh yeah I've been irritable but if they cared to actually ask me why, they'd know I'm dealing with some stuff. But no... when I confronted him he told me that "anything you say is suspect because you might be under his influence". Apparently, I'm just blind and am too stupid to realize what is going on. Apparently, despite me being the one who's had the otherwise not important dreams my whole life, I don't know anything about what's going on and they need to rush in and save me.

The internet is crazy and one never should stick their dick in it.

This doesn't quite belong in here, but moreso than any other thread.

I bought the Borderlands Game of the Year through the steam weekend deal that's going on ($8 for the game and all 4 dlc packs)

So I let it download and install overnight.

I woke up and got on my computer and the download progress stopped at 10 of 12 GB with the status 'suspended'.

I checked my raptor drive after a few minutes of wtf'ing and realized I ran out of room. I had to haste-delete Call of Duty 4 and Bad Company 2 to free up another 10 gigs of space.

I have a 29 GB partition on that drive that I can't re-assimilate to the rest of the drive because I'm technologically retarded. So I now have a 'full' 150 GB Raptor drive and no reliable drive to put my games on.

All the more reason I need to reassemble and upgrade my pc.
