sucks, Kor. But are we talking about lug nuts coming off after an impact wrench tightened them down?

(some decades ago my father lost a wheel and it flipped and landed on him. Yes, it was a Willys.)



Also, I butcher my toenails all the time. I am generally pretty good at pulling the strays before they ingrow, but once in a while I miss and things have to get bloody. There's a surgical procedure that involves removing or cauterizing the toenail root on the sides to narrow the grow width, but I've not pursued that route.

Don't trim it all the way where it's ingrown, just enough to start a split parallel to the ingrown edge and grapple on wif pliers and rip that fucker straight out. Takes a chunk of flesh and (hopefully) the root of the ingrown area there with it.

We are. If it isn't aligned on the hub, kissing the rotor, doesn't matter how tight those nuts are.

Had a procedure done to fix it the one time it was bad. Uncomfortable, yes, but it fixed the problem I was having and I haven't had issues since.

[/quote]@kirby: that's what I usually do. Since it doesn't permanently fix the problem, this time around I've been trying other remedies (for going on a year or so now, really sucks).

Since nothing I've tried works (pulling back the skin with bandaids, trying to stuff something under it to keep it from being ingrown, special trimming methods, etc etc), I'm thinking the surgical route might be best, but my mom was warning me against it because they basically murdered my aunt's toe doing it back in the 70's. Of course, that was 30+ years ago now, but still.

I couldn't stand to have one for that long.  I would have taken an axe to my foot by now.

[/quote]So many other parts of me hurt basically all the time, that it doesn't bother me that much unless I try to put shoes on other than my steel toes, stub it on something, or have someone step on it. Then I want to die.

Now for something completely different:

My 2011 Mustang had 6" of standing water in the spare tire well when I went to investigate the dampness in my trunk. 

Among the things destroyed in my trunk by water were my last remaining copy of my college transcripts and my LODs from the army. 

Either there's a leak somewhere in there, in which case Ford's covering it because it's still under warranty.  Or the dumbass at the car wash accidentally popped the trunk when he put the caution lights on before washing it, in which case I'm going to murder their entire staff since i have no idea which one did it.

they'll fix the leak, and probably replace all the crap in the trunk- the particle board on carpet partition in the trunk has basically disintegrated in places, the jack was down right rusting, there was water in there for awhile, I can't believe I didn't notice.  

as for hazards/trunk:

That's traction control, Hazards, Trunk, in a line next to the shifter on 2010 and newer mustangs.  Never been wild about that placement.

[/quote]Fun. I've got a similar problem in the trunk on my A6, I can't figure out what seals are fucked up so the spare well just fills with water. I didn't notice until it started to stink, because it's UNDER the particleboard back there. If I keep the car much longer I'll probably just drill a hole in the bottom of the spare well to drain the water and leave it be, but that's not an ideal option on a new car Tongue

Re: stuff, might be worth calling up your insurance if you've got renter's/homeowner's, too, although fuck me if I know how to describe what happened. Auto insurance will only cover things permanently mounted to the car..

I've seen this happen on a few models - sometimes leaves or pine needles get caught in weird places on the rubber seal that's supposed to keep the water draining AROUND the trunk hole and not INTO it. If you haven't already, thoroughly scrub and inspect the whole seal with a copy of warm wet soapy rags. You need a couple rags because those seals get filthy. Many seals are also hollow on the inside, essentially tubes, so if as you clean and squeeze the tube you hear water or sloshing inside, that's a problem.

also, yo dawg I heard you like slushboxes so we put a slushbox in the trunk of your slushbox.
