My point stands. The concept of 'muscle memory' does not exist to the extent that you require it for IIDX. The keys are in a set position, but in order to hit certain patterns you must have your hands in a certain position and a few charts require you to switch up forms in order to get a maximum score on a high level chart. Osu boils down to point and click, which means sightreading is more of the name of the game.

I figured we needed some real animu music in this thread, so here:

Berserk - Sign (Full Version)

Grows hair on your chest, or money back.

No. While, sightreading does play a part in osu, when playing songs that consist of rapid beats with barly any time to move your hand from one beat to the next, memorization plays a much larger role. You have to know where to where to start moving your hand to before the note even appears a lot of the time.. Five beats going around a curve at 280bpm appearing less than half a second means you don't have time to look and analyze where how far to move your hand to reach the destination. Muscle memory plays a huge part in this game. At high speeds for both of these games, you don't sightread. What you do is use patterns in the display at cues.

Incase you missed it the first time, allow me to repost this to prove my point.

OSU! MATRYOSHKA (Insane) Miku & Gumi

Okay, now sightread it.

You do realize that in IIDX, notesplashes hang around for about 3-6 frames, right?

Artificial difficulty.

...What are we even arguing about? That IIDX is harder? Probably, but whatever. I still find your game boring and like OSU more. This convo is going nowhere.

Back on topic though.

Ika Musume was also pretty cool when it was called Sgt.Frog. But I can dig it, Sanea is the best character on that show.

Congradulations. You created a monster.

Do you want to change it to the Hulk Hogan thread?
