Well, My Friend's Dad Screwed Up - HeK, HALP! - [fr31ns]Karrde - 06-06-2010

Ok, so he managed to pick up a virus.  Chances are it's on the comp I think it is.  Could be on 2 others but I don't have access.  MS Security essentials and Housecall have both come up with nothing on this comp.  Ideas?

Try every scanner you can think of? Reinstall?

Personally I swoop through the registry, looking for start-up services that shouldn't be there. I also look for things hiding in the default shell and the .exe extension association.

You can try these additional anti-virus scanners:

G DATA
Avira AntiVir
BitDefender Antivirus

Well hopefully he gets it Tongue  I'm not gonna go over there again and play king tech support.  How do ppl manage to get these things x.x  I honestly have never had a virus on a computer that wasn't someone else's fault.

Or you could be really pro and charge $20 an hour to do the same thing like I do.
