What determines "wasteful spending?"

Is it the sheer monetary amount, the amount paid vs. times used, or what?

I think it's amount paid for something generally not needed.

Like I could have bought similar makeup for a fraction of the price, but instead paid ridiculous amounts for it.

I have a wristwatch that cost over a grand.

I win?

Re: Criminal Acts of Wasteful Spending - Reevesith - 09-21-2010

Does spending $80 on the collector edition of new fallout count? O.o  it'd be my first big item buy ever @3@;

Re: Criminal Acts of Wasteful Spending - backfire - 09-21-2010

I'm gunna say the $300 on the Novint Falcon... Was all excited by the possibilties of this thing,but there's still barely any support. I rarely had touched it since last year. :-\

I bought professor layton and the unwound future yesterday....but I'd hardly call that a wasteful purchase

There's no formula. I'm just doing this for kicks. Joke thread is not serious.

Um, I mean... FIRST ONE TO CRACK MY ALGORITHM GETS A NEW CAR.

100 bucks on a rifle from WW2 (Mosin-Nagant) a year and a half ago that has yet to be fired.

It is far from it. I calculate value of games and movies based on a cost-per-hour ratio. If I enjoy them it makes it better too. But anyways, I'm not done (nearing the end though) and have around 15 hours not having done all the puzzles yet. This gives it a approximately $2/hour charge, versus a 2 hour movie that costs $9 (ticket alone) for $4.50. Layton is a good purchase.

Also, I suppose I can argue college? Except that I enjoy it here and am happy.

Woah. Someone had a bit of a problem. I feel nauseous spending anything over $30 a month for MMO's.
