AC Adapter thread sorta unrelated to other AC Adapter threads that I have made - Duck, Duck, Goose - 12-05-2010

So, I've noticed this: a crackling sound can't be a good thing.

Now, my original AC adapter from my laptop works fine with the new tip (which is a little small/doesn't fit too well). The one I ordered is fucked and I get to send it back for a full refund.

However, I noticed this crackling sound. I think it's why the one I ordered worked fine for a few days then died slowly. Now, I notice it happen on the rare occasion on my original adapter (possibly from the tip not being fitted properly?). I've only noticed this when it's running on power with a full battery after about an hour or so. I un-plug it right away and let it run on battery for a bit, and it's never happened while charging.

Any thoughts/advice on what to do?
