Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City - Maxon - 04-12-2011

Glad to see the series is steering more away from what it was doing with Resident Evil 5, with them saying they are trying to bring it back more towards it's horror roots, though they aren't going as far back as making it a survival game from the sound of it.  If anything, it looks like they are at least giving it some quality controls, hopefully, and that it'll be in a familiar area.  The idea that you'll be fighting both military, zombies, and bio-weapons at the same time sounds like it'll make things rather chaotic, especially with all of that transferring over to the multiplayer.

If anything, more zombie action.  Always up for that.

What was wrong with 5?

Well it wasn't as good as 4 for one.  I enjoyed it, but I would also like to see them bring the series back more towards the horror aspect rather than the action focus it was pushing towards with RE5.  I know this game won't be going for a straight survival game, but I hope it can do a good mix between the new and old.  Plus we are back to actual zombies lol No more worrying about tentacles and flying things popping out of heads lol

If there is anything to hope for, it's good controls. I was able to use the scheme of 4 & 5, but I'd like my challenge to come the actual monsters and enemies, not because I can't strafe and move around like a normal person would lol

Machinegunning down thousands of black people somehow didn't feel like a RE game to me

Eh, I'm willing to give them a chance.  Two PSP games and an offshoot of the main series isn't too much to fault them for.  Not like they played a part with the main games...or that the games were all that amazing to begin with lol

From the sound of it, it's really nothing like that lol

plz tell me you did not just call the re5 controls tedious while at the same time wishing for a return to RE roots....

Re: Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City - Maxon - 04-13-2011

I certainly didn't mean a return to the controls of the original games lol Those controls kept me from really enjoying the series for a long time and I never did beat them all.  I meant that I hope the game itself has more of the feel the older games had, which were survival horror.  Not a complete return at all, but I think there can be found a good medium between the new ideas and the old ideas to appeal to everyone.
