PSA: STEAM PHISHING - Squishy3 - 12-28-2014

if someone on your friends list sends you a thing like "hey i took this funny screenshot of you playing" and it links to a google doc or a url redirector ala goo.gl or bit.ly don't click it, it trades your entire steam inventory away

i imagine most of us are not dumb enough to fall for it but i figure i'd throw it out there. not a victim either, ain't nobody gettin my inventory

I've had two people hit by something like this. Here's a screenshot so you get an idea of what to look out for:

(this person caught it after the fact, hence his username)

General rule of thumb is not to accept any requests from people under level 10 unless you actually know them.

That's not the issue, anyone on your friendslist who does fall for it also sends out the message, see Eightball's screenshot

[/quote]Yeah, it is the issue, because the chain starts somewhere...

I get at least 2-3 requests a day, mostly from level 0s...
