Re: ARK: Survival Evolved - FlyingMongoose - 06-16-2015

The rules are now on the first post.

Re: ARK: Survival Evolved - Coppanuva - 06-16-2015

I can apparently actually run this on my laptop. I may be joining!

Re: ARK: Survival Evolved - FlyingMongoose - 06-16-2015

Awesome coppa! (by the way the game for servers needs at minimum 6GB to run) so... expect it to run like shit on your lappy

1) Everything is fair game in the community house resources and equipment. Build your own house/storage otherwise.
2) If there is a building other then the community house and its marked as someones base/home don't mess with it (paint, loot, grief in any way, etc).
3) If a dino is in the community pen its free to use, however if you use it you must treat it as your own and not let it die. If it does die in your care it must be replaced or speak with owner for resolution. Also owner has priority use of their dino while online.
4) Help others out, everything is easiyer with more hands.
5) Ask around your likely not the only one that wants to achieve a goal.
6) Try to keep the community house stocked and organized when possiable.
Community wide chores:
  • Restock compost and distribute fertilizer
  • Restock wood for fireplaces/forges/standing torches
  • Restock Berries/Meat for Dinos and feed them
  • Restock Sparklepowder in presevations bins
  • Gather oil, metal, flint, thatch
  • Craft arrows
  • Craft narcotics and stimulants as those don't expire
  • Upgrade/repair if you see someting you can improve
Everything sounds good and fair. All I'm going to say is because I'm a super green.
I wouldn't expect anything truly meaningful out of me until out of me until I get the basics down tight.
But until then everyone feel free to have me harvest, chop, collect stuff. Really if any wants to I am excellent Dino bait. I do ask if you ask this of me, please bring the bbq sauce. Namely Sweet baby rays.  😋😄😋

Re: ARK: Survival Evolved - FlyingMongoose - 06-16-2015

Ehhhhhh I'm used to playing things on the lowest they can go. Also I think it has 8gb so I should be good, or worst case I bite the bullet and get an actual comp now that I'm settled in somewhere.

lay off the drugs

Truly a testament to the UE more than anything... I still can't get over that Comic Sans-esque UI font with the rainbow of colors... guess they never took a UI Design class...

But Early Access... oh wait, why the fuck is this $30? KSP didn't even cost that much until it was FINISHED.

10/10 best website

What "major hits behind our leads" has this "veteran team" actually worked on?

Anyways, I don't usually get burned on Early Access (except Godus, fuck Godus)... but I tend to avoid shit like this. I truly hope you guys don't get swindled here, since you seem to enjoy the potential this game has... I'll just paraphrase the top review currently on the Godus page...

Quote:Peter sold me a dream before I realized I shouldn't give money to people selling dreams. The game has not delivered what was promised and I will be shocked if it ever does.

And holy shit balls damn this ARK thing is promising you guys the moon!

k

i have 55 hours in this already. even at .50 an hour - which imo is super cheap for the entertainment it has already given me - it has paid for itself in enjoyment. will it become a bad game like most early acces games do? very possibly. i don't think i'm getting burned though. people spend $20 a person to see a 2 hour movie, those people are the ones who get burned

4/10 if you're just trolling though

good point, but still... I got KSP for $15 and played 600 hours in Early Access... either way, I was on the fence about this (if it was cheaper I probably would have bought it), but that vid kinda swayed me off... :-\

I was skeptical the second this game came outta nowhere...

Although if it turns out pretty sweet, I'll keep my eye on it.

yeah i watched the video that guy was out for blood it seemed. a lot of the problems he had i did not, and i'm sure he has a better machine than i do. he also grasped at a lot of straws. the framerate issue is the biggest thing and it's totally legitimate but the devs have crosshairs on it supposedly. playing with brbu has made all the difference, i will say. playing solo wouldn't be the same and much less fun.

also i didn't even know this game was a thing until i bought it. impulse purchase i won't soon regret

Re: ARK: Survival Evolved - FlyingMongoose - 06-16-2015

Also take this into consideration, the servers there show version 160.0 current version is 174.34 (or something close to that), and there's been huge improvements since (including lots of performance adjustment implementations).

And yeah he seemed out for blood. The game itself is actually really fun and solid, though I do know some people have some problems.

Also in whom I've talked to, it seems to run better on AMD GPUs (not sure why because Nvidia physx is part of UE4... so... there's partnership there)... I dunno. Also, no SLI or crossfire support (not a dealbreaker to me)

And by the way, this is a common issue the failure to load happens on many UE4 games because UE4 likes taking over your system during load (for some reason) attempting to use steam overlay, alt tabbing, or anything other than just loading the game will make the game fail to load sometimes... not sure why.

back with avenguse!!!!!!!

Re: - FlyingMongoose - 06-18-2015

Added role 7 to forest past and removed ownership list change in governance items enforces these things and it just changes too frequently to effectively maintain the list here.

Re: ARK: Survival Evolved - Luinbariel - 06-19-2015

Remember to keep your carnivores fed...

Logged in for a bit before work this morning, found some of them with nothing left in their inventories. I didn't have time to hunt for them all but I put in a little bit for everyone that needed it. There was nothing in the preservation bins for them either.

We should gather a bunch of meat today.
