The art style fits perfectly, because ray guns were round and covered in strange antennae long before a steampunk cosplay manufacturer hijacked the 'look', which happened what, like two years ago? Because steampunk lasers? Are you even listening to yourselves?

Back In the 40s, everything was boxy already, so futuristic stuff was round and/or chrome. Watch some buck rogers or marvin the martian if you don't believe me.

basically this

1) wtf art style gg Valve
Yeah, laser weapons certainly don't fit in with teleporters, sentry guns, and wranglers.

... and this. :-\

Personally, I think old-school futuristic laser weapons fit in perfectly with the art style.  I wouldn't mind if they toned down the particle effects though.

The art style was destroyed when hats came out.  Just look at the dev commentary on TF2.  Get over it.

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Source Engine Changes (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2, HL2Big GrinM)
  • Fix a crash bug during changelevel when the Steam client is unable to init
  • Reduced the frequency of diagnostic messages for out-of-range positions and velocities

Team Fortress 2
  • Added the Red Orchestra 2 promo items
  • Fix a crash bug related to the Righteous Bison
  • Fix a bug where the increased_maxplayers server tag was being set when the 25th internal player slot was added for replay
  • Fixed a bug that caused team color paints to appear to be coming out of the wrong cans for the store icons
  • Updated the main menu backgrounds to include Granary and Upward

Re: Updates of the Week (ongoing discussion) - backfire - 08-04-2011

Oh god I need this. What do I buy?

Re: Updates of the Week (ongoing discussion) - Maxon - 08-04-2011

Is the Pip-Boy given to those who already have one of the Fallout's or something or has it not been actually given out yet? Definitely the coolest of the items they updated today, since I heard it might replace the PDA, but I'm not holding out for that lol

*EDIT* I guess it's for the upcoming DLC or possibly a GOTY edition? I hope it's given to those that have the game already.  As much as I want it, I'm not buying the same game twice for it.

If it does come out with a GotY edition, I bet they'd give it to current NV owners. Gearbox did the same thing with the Borderlands GotY edition with the Duke Nukem Forever earily access key. Gave it to current Borderlands owners, then gave it to anyone who got the goty version afterwards.
