Quote:Gameplay Changes
-Players who are stunned by a Scout now take 50% less damage
-Increased the minimum distance to stun a player with the Sandman

wat

I agree it needed a nerf but I'm not sure that was the way to go about it (specifically the part where getting hit with a baseball now effectively doubles your health)...

Re: Updates of the Week (ongoing discussion) - Versus - 03-13-2009

should be 50% less from the scout that used it, but w/e

Even with a damage reduction a pyro, heavy, sniper, or spy will still tear through them.  Scout still takes the biggest nerf to doing damage on a stunned enemy, which is good.  If me getting stunned then insta-gibbed by some nub with the Sandman and FAN is fixed now, I'm fine.

I actually just assumed it was me sucking when that was messing up.

Re: Updates of the Week (ongoing discussion) - Star Knight - 03-13-2009

I can't join any class with viewmodels on, idk why. TF2 crashes to desktop wheni join a class w/ viewmodel on. Once i turned viewmodel off BAM i can play.

Fixed Natascha's chain not being drawn on the view model
I think that broke it =/

I feel kinda bad about that rank thing now. Sometimes I'll just join a server or something while I'm waiting to auto-join another.

They have not implemented it yet, they were just putting forward the idea, judging by the response by server operators, they are going to go back to the drawing board, tweak it, and then re-present it to the users.

Re: Updates of the Week (ongoing discussion) - KarthXLR - 03-18-2009

YES!!!!!

Added Multicore Rendering

This initial release is aimed at testing compatibility, so the option is OFF by default

To turn it on, go to the Options->Video->Advanced dialog, and check the "Multicore Rendering" option

Other Changes

Several performance improvements to decals and client bone/flex setup

A variety of alt-tab and mode switch fixes

Improvements to the way the engine initializes surround sound, fixing some specific hardware cases

Fixed a crash on exit in Vista 64

I have yet to see how it will effect my Pentium 4.

Re: Updates of the Week (ongoing discussion) - copulatingduck - 03-18-2009

game was crashing ridiculously frequently (crashed 6 times during a single scrim) for me after the update, and I didn't even enable dualcore support. GG valve

Re: Updates of the Week (ongoing discussion) - cbre88x - 03-19-2009

about time. I just hope any initial issues are fixed by the time I get back. maybe I can start sniping for realz again. I've missed it..

Re: Updates of the Week (ongoing discussion) - Maxon - 03-19-2009

I don't know if maybe my PC was just acting nice today or what, but it just sorta felt like the game was running a wee bit smoother with the multi-core turned on.  Also I read that ATI has a new update and that some people were getting better performance with it, so that might be something to look at too if you have an ATI card so I made sure to update there cause I was behind.

That seems pretty decent.
