TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - CaffeinePowered - 05-06-2008

Map testing and general pugging shenanigans today.

Maps for this week:

Avanti - TFC port, hopefully it will play well with TF2 mechanics Smile

Moonwalk_v2 - very unique looking map, hopefully it will play just as well too.

Like I said on the DToid post I'll try and make it on tonight. I don't think I've played TF2 in about a month.

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - Kor - 05-06-2008

Woot for Avanti, I loved that clusterfuck in TFC.

:'(

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - cbre88x - 05-06-2008

Is Avanti good for sniping?

Edit: Nevermind..I saw some decent spots in the screenshots.

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - [fr31ns]Karrde - 05-06-2008

Can't be there, yay work, but moonwalk is a good map.  Like I said in the other thread.  It's a nice CTF with quite a few paths, good sniping and engineering spots and fun with low G in the middle.  But avanti....this the new one that Femailden or w/e his name is did?  Or is this the old port that was never meant for release?  Theorhetically, the new one has the old flag run mode on it.

*edit*

Ah, this looks like the newest one.

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - 1Trace1 - 05-06-2008

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - ZargonX - 05-06-2008

I may be there pretty late, but I'm sure you guys will still be around Wink

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - CaffeinePowered - 05-06-2008

Good night tonight, I think I'm gonna put moonwalk on for voting, avanti, while a very good port, has a crashing error that hopefully the guy will fix in the second beta

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - Tragic Hero - 05-07-2008

You know I come back from the pub hoping that people would still be up playing and everyone goes to bed.  What kind of shift are we running here?

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - [fr31ns]Karrde - 05-07-2008

heh, that's kinda ironic.  The other avanti port also had a crashing problem.

Avanti seemed to be working fine for those of us who downloaded it from the website, instead of off the server. It's possible that something might have gone wrong when you uploaded it. try a Re-up and then download it through the game to see if you can duplicate the problem before tossing out the map.

Yes I enjoyed it.  Plus it was nice hearing Kor yell once in a while, I don't get to hear it very often.

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - Vandamguy - 05-07-2008

yes. the red mist descended on Kor. Changing him back into "Beast" as we used to call him

I think I'm taking this as a compliment, I think.

@Vandam: Old school tag for an old school map - PoM | Beast

@Toilet Duck: 15 minutes of defensive glory.

Re: TF Tuesdays - 5/6/08 - Ice Max - 05-07-2008

Indeed, those were fun maps. Avanti seemed like it would be more fun than moonwalk though, and it's a shame we didn't play it very long. Sad

Good night, until we went to the usual maps and my skills went into the fuckin' toilet. I really need to know when to say fuck it and log off for the night instead of getting more and more frustrated. Tongue

No, if that was the case I would have gotten the error, the same version I have on my computer is the one that I uploaded to the server.

Theres a "solution" there, but usually what fixes it is having the map maker recompile the map after an update has been made to the SDK. Its mostly due to poor design on the map makers part.
