Free-for-all might be interesting to try, if it's possible.

Not sure if there are any maps that support straight deathmatch...or more than 2 teams, old TFC at least had some 4 team maps

More pick up games, everyone loves those

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - Surf314 - 03-30-2008

I still think we should do some paper rock scissors games.  Each team picks a class in secret and have to play only that class for the round.

I like this idea.

And this map looks fun, although I haven't actually played it.

What do you mean? A whole team has to play one particular class?

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - Versus - 03-30-2008

Yeah. Each team decides in secret which class they are going to play as that round, considering the advantages and disadvantages of that class, and what the other team could pick. For example, on dustbowl, an engineer vs. spy game.

edit: this is decided, presumably, during the setup time.

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - Chooly - 03-30-2008

The classes are balanced only in as much as all classes work in uniform,
That said, should still be a fun thing to try.
I'm wondering instead about three, four teams possibly? Discuss.

TF2 doesn't support multiteam setups.

In TFC you could have up to four teams, and its just not supported in the map process for TF2. Real 4 team maps like the old murder ball simply aren't a reality at this time.

I'll toss a suggestion for a Orange map night with the addition of a few plugins that I have no idea what they're called. There's a twin set of mods that modify how medic uber/engi metal is handled. You can right click with the medigun/wrench to drop health/metal, or simply drop health/metal when you get killed, or both. The third mod I saw was a instant teleport mod, mean there's no cooldown on the usage. Toss in instaspawn for good measure as well. Mix these 4 mods with some the better Orange maps(Orange_X4, Orange Cross2 v2, Orange_Z), and you could have a hell of a fragfest with a full server.

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - Surf314 - 03-30-2008

Well the fun I see in a paper rock scissors match is that certain classes beat other classes pretty easy.  But if a good team worked together you should be able to counter act that.  It wouldn't be fun to play for very long periods of time.  Honestly it'd be best on point capture maps or something where the rounds would go quick.

If you could have like a series of 2-5 min rounds with the paper rock scissors thing it'd be hella fun for a half hour to an hour than we could just do something else.

Plus it'd just be funny when the teams picked certain classes against each other.  Imagine some of the epic match ups.  All spies vs all heavies.  All pyros vs all soldiers.  All engineers vs. all demomen.
