Its on the server and votable, I need to update it to b2.

It was fun, but we found the later caps really difficult with 24 people (seems more suited to 32, or 16). Besides I'd rather promote norad than some map that gets a ton of attention cause someone can do models in maya  Tongue

Because a youtube video is worth a thousand words

A few of us tried this tonight when the server was mostly empty (albeit we couldn't do a full test since there were class limits) and we all thought this would be great for FNF.  It was pretty fun with 3v3, so just imagine how crazy it would get with a full server.  Perhaps enable *gasp* instant respawn to make it even crazier.

So, I guess I'm directing this at Scotty when I say:  What do you think about trying it this Friday?

I fully support this asshattery plan for fun.

Pretty sure any server admin can remove class limits for the duration of the map (it's an executable config, like the FNF/TFT ones).

That does sound like it could be a lot of fun, but it also sounds like it'd be a massive headache to organize. I'll let you know tomorrow when I make the pre-FNF post. Smile

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - [fr31ns]Karrde - 03-17-2009

No worse than pickups.  Top Half of the team builds entrances and dispensers in spawn, along with exits in the enemy base.  Bottom half builds teleport entrances and dispensers in enemy spawn and exits in their spawn.  Keep dispensers in doorways/along the wall and don't block spawn.  Then, don't run out of the battle field.

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - Mission Difficult - 03-17-2009

I would think it'd be worse than pickups. That's just people getting on the right team. This involves getting people to actually do things. That being said, it would be fun to try.

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - Benito Mussolini - 03-17-2009

We can make this more awesome by making more than 2 fighting spots.

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - [fr31ns]Karrde - 03-18-2009

That'd make organizing worse and lead to fewer telefrags Tongue

If there's a message already like this, ok, but I don't think there is.

We kinda talked about how #1 has the customs and people get waved off when a custom comes around.

Could we be more specific in the server's cron (?) messages and mention that one can download the library of custom maps one might run into on #1 if they hit up the forum for the map pack thread?  Not mention the thread, just something like...

"Don't have our customs?  Join the brbuinstalling.com forum and download our Map Packs!"

And don't put it on the left "say" area... make it come up as one of those special colored blocks on the bottom center, like, you know.. crap, what lets you do that?

Anyway, just suggesting a less subtle pointer so they can download the maps in one shot and not get hurled forward in their harness every time a custom gets RTV'd.

i know i wish people would though...

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - The Generic Name - 07-26-2009

It would be nice to see more than four maps.  But I'm probably not the first person to say that.  Or the first to have the idea shot down.

FNF Arcade/Video Game Edition:

pl_donkeykong: http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/75352
cp_pacman: http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/83712
arena_mariobros: http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/99615 (capped to 8v8)
ctf_frogger: http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/49573
cp_donut: http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/83333

These maps are awesome, throw in ktf_blockfort too if you want.

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - Coppanuva - 08-29-2009

I think a sort of Olympics/Triathalon night might be fun. Do a pick-up or something initially, and then everyone plays the same class each map. Have a solid scout map, solid soldier, etc. Or even do it on bestinclass, make everyone play one class until the spot is capped, then switch to the next.

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - copulatingduck - 08-29-2009

bestinclass kind of owns

Did we drop the ball here?  Did Nitrous get zero feedback on this?  Shuffling integration of new admins aside, there has to be a response.

Is his idea feasible or not?

I know #1 is not known for having wacky customs like this.  But we have used #2 as shelter before.

Re: FNF/TFT - Feedback And Suggetsions - CaffeinePowered - 09-03-2009

Anyone who runs an FNF should be checking this thread for suggestions, but its up to the admins individually to do it, I will add any maps necessary if whomever is running it makes that request
