You still have to account for the chance of them surviving. Saying that is bad developing.

The sacrifice will probably happen at the beginning, or the end of the 5th level, to prevent this from happening by spawning the entire team back, and most of the some of the hoard might be split into A 25/75 deal where each side has a healthy chunk of undead mess to clean up. I really don't have any logical ideas for what will happen on the aspect of special infected during this, or whether or not a versus mode will be made for this.

My personal ending?

Z-"Looks like the only way up to the roof is to reactivate the power, but the security system would go off and lock down the lobby..."(Drawing hoard and creating hopeless element.)

L-"Is there anyway to break through it or hack the security?"

F-"None of us know kung-fu, and none of us are geniuses, Louis."

B-"So what do we do? Just die in an office lobby with our thumbs up our asses?"

L-"...I'll activate the power."

Z-"Louis, No!"(Yes I am pulling for Louis, because I think he will have a slight incompetence complex after hanging out with a biker, and a warvet for an extended amount of time in a zombie apocalypse. It wouldn't surprise me if he has a lapse in his sanity either.)

L-"I'm Fine guys, I lived a good life, now get to the stairs and tell me when your ready..."

When the power is hit, the shutters go down and the alarm alerts the hoard, who starts attacking the three survivors but are delayed in the lobby by the shutters. The shutters will eventually break down due to the massive numbers of the hoard all beating down on the doors and the player in the lobby will try to hold them off while the others fight through there side to get to the roof and to the evac. pad. During the final hoard, the player in the lobby will be swarmed with 100% of the zombies while the others maybe get one or two tanks.

The ending scene(once the three get inside the helicopter) will be from street level and  will show the hoard piling into the build lobby where gun fire continues then suddenly stops as the camera begins to pan up showing the helicopter flying into the moonlit night.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - beep beep diglett - 04-15-2010

still, taking one person out for the entire campaign would be bad game design unless they get something else to do

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - Surf314 - 04-15-2010

One thing they could do is keep breaking the group apart where portions of the group have to do separate tasks. Maybe one or two need to go on a catwalk and the rest need to go ground level. Have the dangers sometimes alternate so one group has to help the other from some distance. Then at the end when someone is split off something happens where they become permanently stuck and will have to help the other 3 escape from where he/she is.

Or better idea someone turns into a zombie.

What if only one player is left at the point where a player sacrifices themselves? Whatever, probably not worth thinking about. I'll just see what they do.

If there's only one person left it's unlikely they'd survive long anyway.

Like I said there is probably an event trigger that is unsurvivable.

"someone has to hit the switch in the booth or we are all dead"
"but then how will that person get out, they will be trapped!"
"Maybe there is another way?"
"It's OK I'll do it, I've lived a long fulfilling life"
"No Bill!"
"Shut up and get on the platform"

Then you shoot zombies off bill while he survives long enough to hit a series of switches. Campaign ends with bill getting nailed by 3 tanks.

that one is on topic, but this one is better

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - Turtle - 04-15-2010

I think Louis is gonna die, because his character is suppose to be a stressed out guy that's worked in an office his entire life, right?

After the running through sewers and shooting zombies and shit, he's probably not gonna wanna go back to a stuffy old office.

Why not die the way he wants to die. Fighting zombies. Lots and LOTS of zombies.

Edit: or Francis could die and at the end say "I hate this game"

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - Live-Free-Or-Pie - 04-15-2010

Wouldn't be uber dramatic if the Survivors randomly draw lots at the end of the L4D1 level and would have count on the one who gets the short match to sacrifice them-self?

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - PyroZombie - 04-16-2010

It would be kinda cool if they added a rock paper scissor feature, or evens/odd to help players decide who goes in. Maybe a couple of bottles on a tables to have a shooting contest.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - KarthXLR - 05-01-2010

Me, montoya, and commish just had the best match of all time. ever.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - Surf314 - 05-02-2010

I'd be down to play later on. I got some chores to do though.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - beep beep diglett - 05-21-2010

just played the passing on easy in single player, what a shitty campaign. all the new stuff is cool, but the maps themselves are incredibly short and dull. would rather have seen the new stuff added to the other campaigns. also the new AI is fucking retarded

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - PyroZombie - 05-22-2010

I liked the stairway, never have I felt overwhelm by ten zombies.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - KarthXLR - 05-22-2010

Just kind of sad to see L4D2 become increasingly....boring. The first one breathed life into the genre with a new spin on a Zombie game...now it's just dull again.

Sad, but true. Even with these ZMM's, it's only a matter of time again before people just start getting bored completely. These mutations aren't really all that interesting.

Not like killing floor's much better.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - Vandamguy - 05-22-2010

rotate it up a bit , this aint the only zombie game :0

You're re-invited.

WE'RE SO DOING THIS NEXT WEEK.

(like, after this monday)

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - beep beep diglett - 05-23-2010

another thing, anyone feel the achievements are shit compared to the first one? all of them are p much "use this item X times" rather than the ones that took teamwork and skill to do (pistols only, no ff incidents, no health kits)

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - Surf314 - 05-24-2010

Wow in tank run if you go down you are fucked.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 - Maxon - 05-24-2010

I haven't kept up on the last few mutations for the playstyles, but I thought some of the first few weeks sounded awful.  It seemed like basically "Lets see how hard and annoying we can make this for survivors" rather than actually interesting or fun gametypes.
