Nothing in particular. I just wish to convey that anyone can talk about the game here, not just our "Bears."
And for our bears not to just hide here and to go and chill out in general discussion once and a while Big Grin

ANGRY IS A GOD.

Re: placeholder - Eschatos - 09-11-2009

Well, I started playing last week and I like it so far.  I'm still on the trial but I plan to upgrade to the full game soon.  The learning curve really isn't that steep.  Dwarf Fortress was much harder to learn how to play properly.

It’s a great game. The opportunities for greifing are amazing. I when I was in GoonFleet/GoonSwarm it was the best time I’ve ever had in that game. The real battles are in 0.0.  Don’t try to join goon swarm unless you are a goon from something awful. People will try to rip you off or kill you if try to buy your way in.

Also mining really isnt too great in empire. I would recommend doing missions unless you can get access to 0.0 space. I can try to help if you have any questions. If you do let me know.

I've joined a corp along with a few friends, and they've been helping me some.  Right now I'm just mission running till I can use a cruiser.  What's your EVE name?

UStorit...however many there were Tongue

Re: placeholder - MajorAngry - 09-18-2009

i remember that charactor. USTORIT was my second capship pilot. back when i thought it would be coool to fly two at once. there was way to much risk playing with two.

Re: placeholder - CaffeinePowered - 09-18-2009

You know, what I always thought would be a cool mechanic to add to eve would be boarding and capturing ships, would make it technically more valuable during a war to 'capture' an enemy capital ship than to simply destroy it.

That would mean getting out of your ship.
Which means you're floating in a capsule.
In space.
In the middle of battle.

Why don't you just paint a giant target on yourself while you're at it.

Re: placeholder - zaneyard - 10-04-2009

well if they added the mechanic, it wouldn't have to mean you would be in a pod.
it would be cool, but what defense would have you have against it, and what would you have to do to do it?

Re: placeholder - Eschatos - 10-04-2009

There could be a module that allows your ship to stick a boarding tube into the enemy ship.  Or maybe a specialized class of boarding ships.  They could drop marines inside the enemy ship.  Ships would be able to fit point defense turret and inner defenses to protect against boarding attempts.  The only problem with this is that all ships in EVE technically only have one person on board, and so it seems unlikely they'd have any halls or walkways in the ship aside from the cargo hold.

Also one thing I've always wanted to see in a space combat game is ram ships.

Re: placeholder - zaneyard - 10-04-2009

it's fun to ram ships in eve
get a MWD Smile
