just finished installing the beta 8)

Don't you have to buy games to get into betas?

Not when File Planet is giving away free beta keys.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Maxon - 02-04-2010

Well I just went and played for about the past two hours or so.  Got in a few good games and I'm really enjoying it.  After playing MAG for the past week, it's nice having a game with fine tuned controls, graphics, and weapons, though being on the PC helps.  Not too mention being able to lonewolf abit which is quite relaxing and less tense when the game isn't utter fail if everyone isn't focused and working really hard.

I like the smooth new overhaul they gave the menu's.  Looks slick and really doesn't feel like the normal shooter menu fair.

I did have a slight audio problem where I had to drop my hardware acceleration down to basic.  I still think the sound could be better a tad, but might just be me not being use to this new game.  It's a Beta, so I'm fine with that.

Also I don't know if it's just me either, but I get a tad bit of strain playing the game for abit.  I'm not someone to have any problems with viewing at all.  It might just be the map is a tad bright and it's getting me, but right away it just felt different when playing.

They really need to make things more noticeable when stuff is being planted.  You don't hear the alarm unless your super close by and it's nothing more than a light blinking blue box, compared to the normal not light not blinking blue box.  One message saying the bomb is planted is not noticeable when your focused and in the action.  There will be times when I suddenly look around and find that both points are taken and I'm left wondering when that happened.  I don't remember it being like this before, so I think it was some new changes, but I'm not liking them.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Versus - 02-04-2010

I had unplayable graphical glitches when I tried to play last night. :-\

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Squishy3 - 02-04-2010

Gonna prepurchase this as soon as maintenance is over.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Maxon - 02-04-2010

Man the control differences are so significant between the two versions of the PC and PS3.  My FIRST PS3 game, I got 5000xp and went 28/8 lol Weapons handle so unbelievably well, though not playing with an HDTV, the text and visual things are a tad tougher to notice.  Also did they remove spotting in the PS3 version?  Couldn't find a button for it.  It plays really well though.

Couldn't get a beta key/  :'(

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - KarthXLR - 02-05-2010

I'm interested in this. Sucks that I didn't get in in the beta. Maybe I'll pick it up once I hear the reviews.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Maxon - 02-07-2010

Looks like they are gonna tuck in alittle WWII into the start of BFBC2.  I guess a build up for the story.  Makes sense since there are a couple WW2 weapons to use in the BFBC2 multiplayer (You get the Thompson at like 8 or so and BF Veterans get the American rifle I believe.

"In single-player mode, players conduct missions on an unnamed Japanese island during World War II and then move into the modern day through jungles, deserts, and snowy terrain."

Well Fileplanet gave out free codes o-o Not sure if they still are or not.  I guess there wasn't gonna be a straight up open one.

Nope, no codes.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Eschatos - 02-11-2010

Got an early birthday present.  ;D  I like.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - rumsfald - 02-11-2010

I'm getting disconnected from the EA user server every 4 mins in game (it boots me from the game and makes me re-log-in to update stats, which usually hangs). I haven't seen a definative fix yet, so if anyone has, let please post. Some folks say DMZ works (ick), and some report extending TCP timeouts help (my linksys doesn't have that option).

Looks like SPI is the culprit offensive to DICE's sloppy design.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Eschatos - 02-12-2010

I'm liking this game more and more every day.  Sure, it has plenty of crashing and disconnection problems, but when it works it's a great FPS.  If you haven't played it, imagine if Battlefield 2 stole all the good stuff from COD4 and a little added stuff to refine it.  So far I'm loving medicing.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Maxon - 02-12-2010

I still play the demo everyday myself and I already earned everything I could unlock lol I'm gonna be sick of Valdez when the game comes out, but I'm hoping map and crate fixes will keep it fresh since this is the beta.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Eschatos - 02-13-2010

One question:  Are the majority of weapons/upgrades supposed to require a million points before you unlock them, or are they just like that for the beta?  Also are we going to be losing our levels when the beta ends?

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Maxon - 02-13-2010

There is a cap to what you can earn for the Beta.  That way things are still fresh for the main game cause I'd probably have it mostly done by now and the game is still a few weeks off lol

And yes you'll lose it all when the game is released.  Betas almost always do that I believe.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - zaneyard - 02-23-2010

beta seems fun but i keep getting dropped from servers/losing connection etc.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - copulatingduck - 02-23-2010

Well seeing as how it requires millions of points for some of the unlocks in BF2, I see no reason why the requirements wouldn't be incredibly stiff in BC2.

Beta's kind of fun, runs like crap on my machine though.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - zaneyard - 02-24-2010

i got it to stay connected either by putting my machine in a DMZ or by changing a few settings in the ini file
did them both at the same time and stuff works so i don't want to mess with it right now

this game is FUN
