Just a video talking about the PC version and what it brings compared to the console version.

And if they just reset my character that I'm using in the beta, I believe it's Rattlegor, though I'll probably make a new name.

The way I understand it is that this isn't really dlc, but EA's way of making sure you can't sell your used games without them getting a cut.

So what is the score with this game? I'll probably buy it tomorrow but what is the server setup? Is this a game we should try to run a server for?

As I’ve said, I’ll consider funding it if there is enough interest. I can’t promise I will be playing much of anything, but I can at least help pay the bills.

I'm going to be looking to fund a six months to a year of this game if you want to be a co-sponsor. If Game Servers hosts it a year nets a 15% discount. It's like $40 a month. So $204 each. Damn that's a bit steep. Let me figure this out.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - CaffeinePowered - 03-01-2010

I can front some money as well, irregardless there will be a server

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Surf314 - 03-01-2010

If anyone can figure out where the best host is let me know, Tim has agreed to pitch in his winnings so between that me and Trick I think we can get at least 3 months paid for.

Edit: actually if anyone could figure out if gameservers is actually renting the full game servers then that would be best, we could keep it all on one account and we know they are good hosts. I couldn't make heads or tails of the way it is labeled on the site.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - cbre88x - 03-01-2010

I'll go ahead and say I'm interested in this game. I played the demo on 360 and it was pretty damn entertaining. I'm betting it will be better on the PC. When I get back from tour this summer I will probably buy it.

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - Trace - 03-01-2010

So I'm thinking about getting this. Those of you who have played this and MW2, how does it compare? Does it seem like a game you'll get a lot of mileage out of?

Re: BF: Bad company 2? - CaffeinePowered - 03-01-2010

Yes, they have it on gameservers.com, it's $40 a month for a 32 man server, I do not know if servers can be ordered that are larger than that, but they can not be (at this time anyway) from gameservers.

Also a 64 game, given the pricing structure, would be inordinately expensive, $80/month

I can put a pre-order in with game servers tonight for $40 to try it out for a month easily

To me, I played the first one for a few months and that was just on the 360 version.  As far as I can tell with this one by the one map, I think it'll be a solid game.  There are squads, a bunch of vehicles, building destruction that has been increased to allowing for the destruction of two or three story structures, and is less about killstreaks and more about things that people have on hand like grenades, rockets, mortars, and C4, which makes it less about camping for the kills and more about pushing for the objectives, of which you can take out in multiple ways.

I had no problems with MW2 really, so I can't say this is superior, though for me, I can see putting some good time into this compared to the month or so I put into MW2.

I vote Texas or Chicago. Probably Chicago as it is the most central to everyone including our Canuck friends but I like Texas because it is closer to me.

chicago would be better for me cause i can convince my friends here to play with me on it

is the funding going to draw from the same server pool we use for the other servers?

Yea it's through Game Servers. I threw my share of the prize money in to pay for it courtesy of Tim (since no one would take him up on his challenge he wanted to the money to go to the community), so first month is funded. I may be able to put some more in later.
