SEADS - Mission Difficult - 04-26-2010

Found this today and figured it would interest people with any Source engine games. It's called Source Engine Automatic Demo Saver and does just that. Check it out for instructions. The only caveat to it is choosing the right codec and settings. It makes a backup of your config, which is good because it can mess some things up. Nothing serious though.

Hmm, tried it on L4D2. It saved the demos, but it didn't make a folder for them or add em to the demo browser.

Re: SEADS - Mission Difficult - 04-26-2010

I'm guessing you had it scan for source games and stuff before otherwise it wouldn't have saved the demos. As long as you have it running before you launch the game and quit out of the game when you're done they should show up. I did a dozen or so demos before linking it to make sure it wasn't crap.

Actually, they just showed up now :/

Anyways, anyone know a good codec to render in? I spent 15 minutes trying to render this clip in some divx thing, but it ended up making a file that was 0kb [Image: frustrated.GIF]

I use ffdshow with the XviD codec at 85% quality. Seems to come out looking really well.
