Anti Update - demonspork - 01-04-2011

When the new update drops, the server will remain at the old version until updates are available for the server mods, and to make sure there aren't any major issues with notch's update. Here is how you revert to the old version after the update.

1. Update the client (open it and log in) and then close it once it has updated

2. find your .minecraft folder
    Windows -> Start>Run type %APPDATA% and press enter
    Mac -> /Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Minecraft
    Linux -> home directory ~/.minecraft (usually /home/{username}/.minecraft)

3. find minecraft.jar in .minecraft/bin and rename it (Minecraft.jar is different than minecraft.jar)

4. Download the old minecraft.jar from here: minecraft.jar and put it in .minecraft/bin

5. Launch minecraft and you are now running the old version and will be able to connect to the server.

Re: Anti Update - ZargonX - 01-04-2011

What is the reason for not updating?  The mods?  Will we update one our mods are up-to-date?

Re: Anti Update - DragonEkarus - 01-04-2011

Best I can gather this is a patch for those resistant to change (Our mods) I probably just won't be playing for however long it takes us to decide it's time to update

New versions are an enemy to your freedom!

Re: Anti Update - demonspork - 01-10-2011

There may be another route that we are going to take, instead of using a minecraft mod on the server, I may implement a server wrapper that will work regardless of version updates to be used temporarily while waiting for either 1 more hmod update or for the bukkit mod to be released.

Re: Anti Update - demonspork - 01-13-2011

The update has arrived and we are going to stay at the old version for a few hours while I set up an alternate server wrapper.

Re: Anti Update - demonspork - 01-13-2011

Server is now running 1.2 with a server wrapper instead of a mod, no /home, no /spawn and no /playerlist.  Try #help to see what the server wrapper can do, which is not much compared to a full fledged mod.  I will be closely watching hmod and bukkit for updates to get it online.

Re: Anti Update - Versus - 01-13-2011
