Re: Server Rules & Admin - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 10-08-2008

I always find it a bit lame when the map switches and a bunch of people end up waiting at the doors until the stacked team opens up Tongue

Only time I usually do that is if there's someone I really wanna play with on the other team (Radio Raheem because scout dueling him eventualyl gets old and I just wanna stop dieing for a while) or someone on one team I really don't wanna play with (Dakota) Tongue

This shouldn't even ever be in question. Aside from A/D maps where someone might have a valid preference, it should be forced random if people are gonna be cunts and try to stack. I could understand maybe wanting to play with your friends but all-talk invalidates that argument on the BRBu servers.

Re: Server Rules & Admin - Squishy3 - 10-09-2008

all I ever do is hit random. even if only one team is open to being joinable.

Re: Server Rules & Admin - Totla - 10-11-2008

I just pick the door of whichever team needs more people, but on payload maps, I try to get on the attacking team first round.

Re: Server Rules & Admin - cannedpeahes - 10-25-2008

I got added to the #1 so depending on how important this is to you, it might be worth tossing the disclaimer.

Doesn't mean much to me, but I don't know how relevant it is to you.

Re: Server Rules & Admin - Wakati - 11-12-2008

Is there any way to update the list of admins?

Re: Server Rules & Admin - cbre88x - 11-12-2008

I usually pick the opposite team of a good sniper/counter-sniper to practice my counter-sniping.

Re: Server Rules & Admin - Ianki - 11-12-2008

We have quite a bit of admins, and not nearly enough admins who play regularly (at least 3 nights a week not counting TFT or FNF)

it's tough when TF2's not the only good game out anymore

plus i have no internets at home for at least another week and a half

On this bit about the number of admins who play regularly:

Should we get together and put up a corkboard and volunteer on "duty times"?  Like, person A pledges to be online for x amount of time this day and that day, etc.?

I have dropped off the map as far as TF2 is concerned.  I'm trying to show up for TFT and FNF but Ianki's right, that's not helping to providing adequate admin coverage.

If enough people and the higher-ups go for this, I'd go ahead and pledge myself to one non-event night, say Monday, but I would not commit to more.  On Monday, I pledge to be in server for at least x hours.  Should I be in server all night until I have to go to bed, or would it be enough to be in server for at least two or so hours to "pull my shift" ?

Don't think I'm trying to ball-and-chain this.  Right now I'm interested in other things besides TF2 and I need to hard-commit myself to play TF2 so I can be available as a "lifeguard" and fulfill admin responsibilities.

Re: Server Rules & Admin - Eschatos - 11-12-2008

I know I barely play anymore, but if anyone needs an admin, just Steam message me and I'll join asap.

Re: Server Rules & Admin - Trace - 11-12-2008

I'm on way more than I should be  Tongue

Re: Server Rules & Admin - Wakati - 11-12-2008

I was just saying that the list should be updated so people who know who the admins are to get them to join if there's a problem.

Re: Server Rules & Admin - Radio Raheem - 11-12-2008

The admins working in shifts idea only works if they're paid. Otherwise it sucks and no one will show up. Just give admin to a couple more people who are on a lot and are responsible. Wakati was a good choice.

Yeah. As nice as it would be to have a schedule, it'd quickly become a drag on the admins. What would be more realistic is the admins are willing to be available a reasonable amount of time (as in, online in Steam) and don't mind coming into the game for a few minutes to deal with an issue if there are no other admins available.

Re: Server Rules & Admin - cannedpeahes - 11-13-2008

Yeah, I've pretty much disappeared. Sorry for that. But I do tend to stay on Steam, and I'm very willing to come help out if a scuffle comes up, and I have before.
