Also, I think it would actually be a marketable idea to create a computer case made of sheets of light, sturdy cardboard or plastic or another material in a sort of cutout/foldout form. Like a cheap, ecofriendly alternative to a normal case. Also, it would make for extremely easy modification. And if I see any of you stealing this idea and making any money off of it without me getting some, I will hunt you down and kill you.

You're a little late to the party, home dawg.

Open air cases generally have shit cooling as they lack separation of cold intake and hot exhaust and any type of flow path.

Thanks... This is exactly what I had in mind:

Re: Your Rig... - Fail Medic - 10-16-2010

My setup is a bit updated.  This is the first computer I ever built "from scratch" with individually-purchased components.  This blows my previous baby MassShadow away for half the cost.  I so proud.  And Caff ITS NOT A DELL  :o

Soulcage
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-930 2.8 GHz.  With stock cooling, no less.
  • Motherboard: ASUS P6T Deluxe v2.  A trusted companion.
  • RAM: G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 1600.  Shrug.
  • Video: ASUS GeForce GTX 470.  Fan's kinda loud but it's snappy.
  • Storage: Intel X25-M 80GB SSD with grab bag HDs for non-OS.  Cheapo DVD burner.
  • Power Supply: Silverstone 700W.  Yay modular.
  • Case: Cooler Master HAF 932.  High Air Flow?  Moar liek NO AIR FLOW, AMIRITE?!
  • Displays: Samsung 2493HM 24", LG 32" TV
  • Audio: Denon AVR-591 5.1
  • Input: Logitech G15, Razer Diamondback 3G (the same shit)

Re: Your Rig... - Mission Difficult - 10-16-2010

Didn't you have a bunch of cool flight sim gear? What happened to that?

Re: Your Rig... - Kirby - 10-16-2010

I think I've made enough modifications to my rig to justify a repost

CPU

AMD Athlon II X6 Black Edition @ 3.2Ghz

Still my XFX Radeon HD4890

GIGABYTE GA-890XA-UD3

2x Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR3 1333 stix

2x Crucial Ballistix 1GB DDR3 1333 stix

6X WD Really Fast 1TB Black Drives0
2 are RAID-0 for C:\ (Windows, Games, Apps) other 4 are for storage. Netflix 3 DVD's @ a time plan + DVD ripping software is really great for your movie library. not so great for your storage drives)

Still the same 23 40:000:1 Gateway

Who, me?  I have a Saitek X52 but that's it.  I'm having major problems running MS Flight Sim X on this machine.  Don't know why.  Eh, waiting for MS Flight ^^; .
