Do you have the basics, like Java installed? Or Firefox? There is probably an extension for IRC through Firefox.

launching IRC then going to WIRC (see what i did there? "irk" and "work") has been a part of my daily routine for a while now, so i'll be there everyday!

I always pronounce IRC as 'eye-arr-cee' or when I speak dutch 'ee-ehr-say' so no I did not. Wink

well, that's no fun then.

Re: IRC? - Surf314 - 04-28-2008

How do I switch channels.

Blarg I've forgotten everything useful about IRC.

Re: IRC? - Versus - 04-28-2008

If I remember to, I guess I would. Tongue

Re: IRC? - Kor - 04-28-2008

IRC is touching my bad place now.

Re: IRC? - ScottyGrayskull - 04-28-2008

Man, there are too many places to talk these days. I was thinking that awhile ago when trying to figure out all the ways to get ahold of dtoiders:
- forums
- cblogs
- IRC
- Vent
- Stickam

Even here we have the forums, steam chat, vent, and now IRC.

No real point to this, just saying there are a large amount of options. :p

Re: IRC? - CaffeinePowered - 04-28-2008

On dtoid most of those options are fail, especially the last bunch. The forums are still alright, but I wouldnt touch vent or stickam with an 11ft pole.

Re: IRC? - WTF Joel - 04-28-2008

We need our own stickam group now O.o

I agree with Stickam. Seems like a cool idea for certain things, but every time I've been on it's been boring and there's far too much bickering over the 10 video feed positions (which I thought were member specific, but apparently aren't).

I actually quite our young IRC channel already, I rarely feel like using voice chat outside of games because I like to multitask so it's good that I can read my buffer in between what I'm doing. The forums are great but it's great to chat with our members. (And both steam and vent won't work on linux so I wouldn't be able to chat at work or when I'm working at home) So yeah, for me IRC made this community more alive and more fun, come join us!

I would rather have Ain running IRC then any of the people who run the IRC for Dtoid.

Dtoid doesn't let them run IRC, it's all unofficial... But thanks for the confidence anyway. Smile

Soooooo

IRC doesnt work in firefox 3 beta 5

And I installed a couple clients in my wife's linny lappy, but I cant figure out how to run them.  I installed the packages, so I thought I'd be set.  But they don't show up anywhere.  I am doing something wrong...
