Ok, there was some admiral nelson in there also, I'm not sure how much, I just remember a couple doubles.

Oh shit.

Me and some pals up here made a mixed drink with that stuff. Tasted like snow cones and got you hammered fast. We called it "bloody buttrape."

Bumped cuz couldn't walk the line last night and again this morning. 8)

Admiral Nelson appears to be young and have one arm too many.

Re: The Drunk Thread - [fr31ns]Karrde - 10-11-2008

....This needs some bumping.  Had some very nice "Three Philosophers" from Omegang (SP?) brewery.  9.8% ale with a hint of cherries.  Damn good stuff.  And then Yag and Brandy.  I think there's where it went downhill.  And now for some DF2.  If you guys be still up.  I think I'll have my friend play some w+M1 since he's a harcore nub Tongue

Re: The Drunk Thread - rumsfald - 10-19-2008

We have a beer thread, but I don't think we have a liquor or wine thread, so I'm posting this here.

Non-USA-ians, please share your experiences with Absinthe. It's illegal in the US, so I'm interested in knowing if it is any good. Taste, how served, good brands, type of buzz, etc.

And yes, I'm over the driving limit so technically I meet the requirements to post in this thread.

Re: The Drunk Thread - Luinbariel - 10-19-2008

Absinthe.... is not my favorite thing.

I haven't had any crazy experiences with it mainly because I absolutely DESPISE the taste of it... its like black licorice only one million times stronger, and I hate black licorice to begin with.

When I did have a shot or two of it it was nothing special; and it wasn't prepared properly.

I would equate the taste more with anice myself...

Re: The Drunk Thread - Luinbariel - 10-19-2008

I'm wondering if I equate it with black licorice because its different than the black licorice that's common in holland (as far as I know); doesn't it tend to be more salty than sweet there, whereas here it is definitely not?

I know of anise as well, and you can definitely taste that...

Re: The Drunk Thread - rumsfald - 10-19-2008

Licorice or anise... would it be akin to Sambuca?

Also, ain, i'm counting on you to share more than that like stories where you emulated Edgar Allen Poe with a slotted spoon and whatnot then when raving mad in an illegal tunnel party.

Re: The Drunk Thread - A. Crow - 10-20-2008

Ah ha.  I have something relevant to this thread.

So I went to the UK-Arkansas game on Saturday.  And I decided to mix up some whiskey sours for the tailgate before hand.  So my aunt tells me to grab a bottle of whiskey from the cabinet, so I latch onto a bottle of crown royal.  I'd poured about half the bottle out into a pitcher when I notice the date sticker on it.  1982.  I realized in horror that I just used a fucking 26 year old bottle of whiskey for whiskey sours.  They were damn good whiskey sours, but i think the whiskey gods are going to punish me for this.

Re: The Drunk Thread - Tragic Hero - 10-20-2008

Sometimes you learn how to cook new things when you are drunk:  Fried Toaster Strudels = taste of heaven.  Ok maybe that isn't exactly cooking but still...if you own a deep fryer (and all of you should) you should go and buy a box of Toaster Strudels and deep fry them.

Yes, but not for what you are expecting.

Scotch Whisky "scotch" > Irish Whiskey == American Whiskey "Bourbon" > Canadian Whisky "gutrot"

I never said do it and then proceed to sit on the couch and continue to play video games.  I do plenty of athletics (and seeing as how I walk all day at work) to counteract such deepfrying activities.

My twin brother has juvenile diabetes though.  Diagnosed him with it on our 21st birthday.  Poor bastard.
