Ah, it's been a good long weekend.  I have a six pack of Microbrews from Hawaii my friend has been saving for me, also.

Alcohol Connoisseurs of brbu, I require your advice.

I'm gonna be buying some booze soon, but I kinda want to try something new or that isn't captain morgan or patron silver.

I don't really care what type of alcohol it is, but I want it to taste good. Read: it doesn't taste like absolute ass, I don't mind if it has a nice bite though.

What are your suggestions? Give me your knowledge so I can drink it away.

Re: The Drunk Thread - rumsfald - 12-14-2011

Hendrick's Gin and Tonic, garnish with cucumber (or mild pickle)

That's too classy for me Rummy. I'm just a poor boy in college who totes drinking patron over the heads of my plebeian keystone chugging counterparts.

I'm looking to spend no more than $40 on a bottle, be it a handle or fifth.

And if that drink wasn't meant for me, ignore my blathering.

Here's a simple one that you can keep cheap AND classy:

Equal parts rye whiskey + sweet vermouth, splash with bitters.

Now you've got yourself a Manhattan.

OR! If you want even cheaper and easier, mix up a Dark N' Stormy.

Get yourself a nice bottle of dark rum (Goslings, if you can find it), and pour what seems like an appropriate amount over ice. Then top with ginger beer (or ginger ale, if you can't get ginger beer), sit back, and enjoy.

Re: The Drunk Thread - zaneyard - 12-14-2011

i've been drinking gin and lemonade. less filling than beer and i still get pretty toasty off it.
