I just saw that this morning. Me and a friend are hyping this game so much.

Re: holy shit yes. - Tragic Hero - 08-18-2008

Going to pass.  You mean to tell me The Emperor and Vader would take up an apprentice when they are out to exterminate all possible Jedi and how they can pretty much accomplish that with an army of storm troopers?  I can't play a game that seems to go against the star wars story.

Its not the first game to assume that at least one of the two had an apprentice... if I'm not mistaken Mysteries of the Sith featured Mara Jade, the Emperor's Hand, who was more or less an apprentice. She even had some books and comics, etc.

Re: holy shit yes. - ToiletDuck - 08-18-2008

hmm.. speaking of star wars games, how about playing jedi knight II multiplayer one night or two? i remember that being great fun with the light saber battles and what not.

Re: holy shit yes. - Surf314 - 08-18-2008

Its funny how the old school SW games were dramatically better than the new ones.

Re: holy shit yes. - CaffeinePowered - 08-18-2008

Meh, its just the demo

Re: holy shit yes. - JoKeRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - 08-18-2008

I don't see why people are so hyped for this game.

Re: holy shit yes. - [fr31ns]Karrde - 08-18-2008

I'd be all about playing some JKII some night.  Loved No force (aside from full rank jump/sabers) epic large group saber battles Tongue  But yeah, wish I had a 360 for this.  Story be damned, the gameplay looks to be even more fun than JKII was.  Like what if John Woo managed to get his hands on the SW franchise.

Re: holy shit yes. - KarthXLR - 08-18-2008

I don't have a 360 or PS3 so I don't care.

good job you posted then

Re: holy shit yes. - Luinbariel - 08-18-2008

Please count me in for some epic saber battles some day, though I probably suck. Still, good times....

emperor doesn't know about it at all, vader has his own plans for the apprentice, and on the missions you go on if you encounter any storm troopers you have to kill them. main big thing about this game is it's everything a star wars game should be. plus it's an important part of the storyline as it depicts every single thing that happened between episodes 3 and 4

Mara Jade I can tolerate, but this is taking it too far.  In their pursuit for more money they're trying to cram more story lines and important characters into an existing time frame.  This, and Clone Wars just show how little Lucas cares about the franchise any more.

Amen to that.  If I know my Star Wars lore (which I do) there would be no way Vader would be able to keep a Jedi that close and keep his intentions hidden from the Emperor.  Just like when Vader wanted Luke to join his side to overthrow the emperor, the emperor knew the plan all along.  If they wanted to make a game telling what went on between lame ass Episode 3 and 4 you should play the role of a Imperial Beuracrat who helps the Empire fund their wookie slave rings and the hiring of bounty hunters to kill more Jedi and Rebel enemies and such.

Instead Lucas seemed to go the route of "Well Vader and the Emperor have nearly exterminated all the Jedi at this point BUT people like Jedi so lets make up one more"

Sorry if I sound like a bitter fanboy but Force Unleashed sounds as imaginative as Episodes 1 through 3

Re: holy shit yes. - Luinbariel - 08-19-2008

I really want to see all the AI effects and stuff. I want to grab someone, hoist him into the air, and tease him with nearby objects that he can grab onto... if he were close enough.

The last Star Wars game I truly gave a fuck about was Jedi Knight, and maybe Mysteries of the Sith. After that I stopped caring (coincidentally right around the time I stopped reading the books...)

What I would like to see more of would be X-wing related games. I mean... who doesn't want to be a part of Rogue Squadron? For serious? I would totally work the stick with Wes Janson anyday...

Re: holy shit yes. - Surf314 - 08-19-2008
