1997-2008. Bang. - BoBoTheBum - 09-22-2008

Well this is the end beautiful friends, after more than 11 years this is Toonami's final broadcast. It's been a lot of fun. We'd like to thank each and every one of you who made this journey with us. Toonami wouldn't have been anything without you. Hopefully, we've left you with some good memories. So, until we meet again, stay gold. Bang.

BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Re: 1997-2008. Bang. - KarthXLR - 09-22-2008

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Oh well, the only thing I ever found good on there was.............erm....I can't really think of anything to tell the truth.

I think Yu Yu Hakisho was on there for a while, and I enjoyed it. Of course, I was like, 8 at the time.

Re: 1997-2008. Bang. - BoBoTheBum - 09-22-2008

Double posting I suck cocks.

So, am I the only one here enough of a weeaboo to have shed a manly tear at this broadcast? I'm not ognna lie, the last few years of Toonami sucked, but I always though that time was cyclical, and there was always the old anime towards the end of the block. I really wouldn't be the nerdy faggot I am today without Toonami.

EDIT:~ Not a double poster anymore, awesome. Also I guess I'm not the only one.

Re: 1997-2008. Bang. - Fail Medic - 09-22-2008

Let us share some fond memories of Toonami commercial bumps.

These are ancient.

"That's it for DBZ."  "I can't believe it!  Goku's backing off!!" -- "... Zero showed me something quite amusing."  "Gundam Wing is next."

"That's all for Gundam Wing."  "NOOOOOOOO!" "STOP WHINING AND GET OVER HERE *wahhhhh!!*"  "Tenchi Universe is next."

Re: 1997-2008. Bang. - Luinbariel - 09-22-2008

Well I'm sorry to hear that. Sad

Re: 1997-2008. Bang. - Surf314 - 09-22-2008

It got me into anime, but after you are into it there is better stuff to be found elsewhere.  Also the editing they do to the shows suck.  The tones of all the shows seem different the way they dub them too.

Re: 1997-2008. Bang. - A. Crow - 09-22-2008

meh, they had Gundam Wing.

Re: 1997-2008. Bang. - Versus - 09-22-2008

Exactly. It had some great starter anime and other gems too. Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, every Gundam series (I think), DB to DBGT, Yu Yu Hakusho, Reboot, Rurouni Kenshin, Megas XLR, Samurai Jack, BoBoBo, One Piece, Zoids, Rave Master (even though the dub sucked), .Hack//Sign, plus all the old shit during the early days, and that's only what I can think of off the top of my head.  I spent many an afternoon and Saturday evening watching these shows.

Yes, but it had its moments along its checkered history.

I thought it was Sadie Hawkins.

Also, I enjoyed it when Toonami did that show with animation videos like Daft Punk and that one with the claymation dude selling his own soul to make magic happy goggles.

Its like first four or five years were good when it played stuff like Macross, its alright, I see adult swim as sort of like its successor, and it continues to please

Your forgetting that Toonami was host to Batman: The animated series, Justice League, and quite a fair bit of Transformers.

If your wondering why a dirty canuck knows this stuff, my grandparents have a C-band satellite dish, and I used to watch Toonami when I was there over the summer.

Re: 1997-2008. Bang. - Tragic Hero - 09-22-2008

Guess I am the only one who grew up watching anime on Sci-Fi channel?  It was the first time I ever saw Akira and Fists of the North Star.

Signed.  Though I think Batman TAS played on Fox locally around my parts.
