heh, at My school we had no limits and the Direct Connect server was hosted on one of the boxes that belonged to the school of engineering.  That led to Interesting Times when the MPAA showed up.

We had a 'don't ask, don't tell' agreement with IT. We shut down at their request to allow them to perform network upgrades to handle the additional traffic, and they never asked us what we were transferring.

That is because engineers had the last say, not accountants or designers.
