People who know their fair share about computers trying to help you not make a decision you may regret making.

The only place I think that case would work is in the labs for a computer-review website or magazine, because it makes it super-simple to change components. Otherwise, Duck's nailed it on the head I think.

Up until I cut and fit a piece of steel to the top of my 4U rackmount case downstairs, I had to have a bigass 2' floor fan sitting on the top of it blowing into the case because of the lack of airflow, as it was very prone to overheat without cooling on the chipsets.

"Remind yourself that you have the background to succeed and that you are in control of the situation. This can be the confidence boost you need to ace your pitch or to succeed in other ways when facing life's challenges."

We now need a Psychologist to tell us what should be obvious~

That's the problem, though, in a panic we forget what is obvious, and we kick over the mental file cabinets that contain the knowledge we need to overcome the adversity, and instead fill those drawers up with repetitive walls of text like WHAT DO I DO WHERE DO I GO OMG I'M SUCH A STUPID COCKMONKEY OH MY GOD WE'RE SCREWED. And then we overcompensate trying to control everything and everyone at once.

These are all things I did not learn until I started doing solo onsite support work. Also, always have a plan, even if its a shitty plan. Then have a backup plan. Then another backup plan. And finally, be prepared to throw all of those out of the window and think on your feet when you realize your plan isn't going to work.

"fortune favors the well prepared mind" is one of my guiding proverbs.

My two guiding proverbs are "Admit nothing, Deny everything, make counter-accusations" and "Bring guns, bring friends with guns"

I like dis man.

Also, I was leaving my house to go grab lunch, and realized I forgot my wallet inside when I got in my car.

Get up, walk to door, stick hand in pocket just before door, press unlock button on car fob, walk into house door.

I'm cannot count the number of times I've done that. Or tried to use my keys to unlock a friend's car.

I've never seen the Aurora Borealis.

I missed a pretty major eruption last night, although there should still be a decent one tonight. http://www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/2

Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - Hobospartan - 06-09-2011

Seeing an Aurora is pretty high on my bucket list.

These are reasons I enjoy living in a town with ~2000 people.
