Personal preference on the latter - I generally hate eyes on hats. Its also a function of price vs quality and how a photo is framed. Of that whole pile the totodile is the most impressive. Most of the others are nicely made but not ZOMG IMPRESSIVE.

Con rules say no projectiles, no exceptions. Even setting it up outside is iffy.
Also, those guns are loud as hell and don't shoot very far. Source: I own one.

You could still use the same interface/programming to make a faux sentry though. One that doesn't shoot anything, also I know they don't shoot very far, I own one too. Because I'm an adult and I can buy the toys I never got as a kid now.

That vid she did swap to a double-power spring, and is overvolting the drive motor, so that's why it's working so well I think.
Regarding using the same system to do a sentry, I concur, but if you're not firing anything then you can just make it a more accurate prop that makes noise instead of using a Nerf gun
