Personal preference on the latter - I generally hate eyes on hats. Its also a function of price vs quality and how a photo is framed. Of that whole pile the totodile is the most impressive. Most of the others are nicely made but not ZOMG IMPRESSIVE.

gonna admit Caff, the eyes on his/hers look pretty good.

What you can learn from metadata alone

Quote:London, 1772.

I have been asked by my superiors to give a brief demonstration of the surprising effectiveness of even the simplest techniques of the new-fangled Social Networke Analysis in the pursuit of those who would seek to undermine the liberty enjoyed by His Majesty’s subjects. This is in connection with the discussion of the role of “metadata” in certain recent  events and the assurances of various respectable parties that the government was merely “sifting through this so-called metadata” and that the “information acquired does not include the content of any communications”. I will show how we can use this “metadata” to find key persons involved in terrorist groups operating within the Colonies at the present time. I shall also endeavour to show how these methods work in what might be called a relational manner.

No projectiles, against con rules.

Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - FlyingMongoose - 07-09-2013

But it's nerf! You could always built the sentry and not bring the actual projectiles though. I mean a working engie sentry gun? Just go outside to demo it for people.

Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - at0m - 07-10-2013

Con rules say no projectiles, no exceptions. Even setting it up outside is iffy.

Also, those guns are loud as hell and don't shoot very far. Source: I own one.

You could still use the same interface/programming to make a faux sentry though. One that doesn't shoot anything, also I know they don't shoot very far, I own one too. Because I'm an adult and I can buy the toys I never got as a kid now.

[/quote]Parents wouldn't let you have nerf guns as a kid? Get a job right out of college, immediately fill a closet in your apartment with nerf guns.

That vid she did swap to a double-power spring, and is overvolting the drive motor, so that's why it's working so well I think.

Regarding using the same system to do a sentry, I concur, but if you're not firing anything then you can just make it a more accurate prop that makes noise instead of using a Nerf gun Wink
