Many materials exhibit a diamagnetic effect when supercooled (a la liquid nitrogen like he's using). It looks like he's got a track made out of nickel rare earth magnets in some sort of alternating pole configuration, then a cup with what looks like a pyrolitic carbon baseplate. Interesting, but they really rag on the show in the article. Perhaps if the author were to browse to the Official Fansite instead of taking cheap shots at a tiny Canadian animation firm, there would be more meat then cotton in the post.
