What part of North America?  There's different accents all over the place.  Big continent.

There you go. You can basically have different accents in the same city...

I'm going to take a wild guess, and say that an american accent is saying 'color', and messing up foreign words all the fucking time.

Multiple accents exist within some countries. We have the Newfies, and then some people say we (those on the prairies) have a totally different one. Then the US has many different ones... I was under the impression that central Canada had the least noticeable accent thus we had all the call centers.

this

connecicut alone has three or four, then there's the boston and new york accents that invade CT, so yeah theres a lot. It is just hard to notice it because what you speak is normal its everyone else that has an accent (according to your perception).

What? You have an noticable accent too...

And you might get call centers only because you get to leave work later than Eastern-Canada, which represents like 50% of the population (easier to call them while they're eating).

Obviously, everyone gets the impression that they don't have an accent: the others do. Hell, I don't have an accent in english, you all go fuck yourselves.

Considering this is what I was told when hired both times and by several American clients... dunno what to tell you.
