Edit: Ah damn I forgot you have up to $350. You could prob. get a lot better than those cards then...unless you SLI'ed them.

$350?  Good lord man, you can buy as much video hardware as you want for that price these days.

Yea, but he also needs a new power supply for it. And good power supplies ~$100. He can still buy a lot, but also a lot less.  Sad

Yea, any $350 card is going to require that you have an SLI power hook-up, gone are the days when video cards were powered through the slot they are plugged into.

EVGA - get a new PSU thats about 50 - 100w higher than what you have now and spend the rest on an EVGA card

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.

I would recommend the 8800 GTS G92 512mb for gaming at 1600x1200 and under.

If you are looking to game at above 1600x1200 you need to be looking at the 9800GX2 or the new GTX 280 that is coming out very soon.

I would almost recommend holding off a bit until we see the new offerings.  Plus the prices will drop even further when the new product hits.

You don't need that much of a beast of a PSU to run these cards.  I am using a 550W to power a wind tunnel (120mm x5, 200mm, Antec 900) and a volt-modded GTS 512 + a volt modded mobo and overclocked CPU.

So don't go out spending $100 on a PSU, it isn't necessary in the slightest.  Get a reputable 600W with solid 12V rails (2 if you want SLI).

Let me know if you have any questions.
