IIRC, there are one or two bus lines that go through Appleton to O'Hare/Chicago. If not, you can always drive to a city that does (like Madison or Milwaukee). More complicated and expensive but it'll get you there :d I also have a shitty ass car that should not be driven on highways for long periods of time.
I'll keep that in mind. Appleton is an hour away. In other news, I just got dropped from my job. I'm 0/2 on long term contract positions. I suppose I should have expected it talking to other people who work there who say the company will hire people for a few months and then fire them. So if I can get my bike running without depleting all of my cash, I might do some traveling this summer. I cant find a link to the study at the moment but...it linked having ~2 beers before studying or attempting to do brain teasers had a statistically significant positive effect on performance.
Inebriation actually causes your focus to drift, which is actually a good thing in particular types of study and memorizing. most of us get hung up on certain subjects that we cannot see the broader picture and make necessary connections. however, where it is helpful with some types of studying, it hinders other mental processes that are necessary for permanent encoding. that and depending on your level of tolerance of alcohol you could develop state sensitive memory and would thus need to drink on the day of the test to remember what you studied! >< Side note: if, for example, you always drink energy drinks when you study, having an energy drink before or during the test will help with memory recall of material covered when studying. It's a funny association but it actually works. I'm not too fond of the calories in those drinks so I prefer drinking water. but still... |

I went to my 3rd Calculus III exam on Wednesday. Five minutes into the exam I develop a massive headache and can't even remember equations anymore. Before that exam I had a good chance of passing the class, now I know I'm 100% fucked for the second time. Now my chance of transferring into Computer Science Engineering is approaching zero, but that doesn't matter anymore since they're shutting down/massively budget cutting the Computer Science Engineering department!Â

Family comes to visit for the weekend, within 18 hours my mother is already in tears because I stopped her from 'reorganizing' my kitchen. She didn't even ask. I was trying to be nice, say I appreciated it, but I liked everything where it was. Now she's sobbing quietly in a corner. WHAT THE FUCK

Accidentally added a $1 tip to the wrong order on Tuesday, and a guy bitched at my boss over the phone about it. Apparently he demanded our owner's name and phone number, and was very upset about the dollar.

I am going to get loved tenderly by weather today. I'm smack dab in the middle of a "high risk of tornadic activity" area.

So applying to uic was a waste of $50 and time. They didn't even look at my application because it doesn't have the transcripts from uiuc and waubonsee.
so now I have to figure something else out sad part is that i'm well above the average of who gets accepted and those plebs are still in before me. wow 'Meditation is supposedly the only way to Enlightenment because the only way to find this truth is through inner reflection - therefore, what you are finding to be the truth in your personal journey should ultimately be exactly what I find to be the truth, though all of our journeys are unique.'
