Americas Army 3 is a free game made by the US Army.  AA2 was a great game, and one of the only free FPS games that was really a lot of fun for me, that I fondly played back in the day when I was younger. Now they are finally releasing a new updated version on Unreal Engine 3 that features all sorts of new stuff, realism, tactical hardcoreness, etc all wrapped up in a nice free package of winsauce.

The game is released on the 17th but you can preload now (FOR FREE!!?!?!!11)

Course, I've always found the whole one-shot-dead thing aggravating, which is why I'll never finish Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.

Though waits, I didn't think there was a real commander position other than "oh you gets this weaponz"?

Also tactical/realistic games are fun, it's just when they are clunky as hell to play is when it's annoying (like Insurgency and ArmA).  Beacuse apparently "realism" means you can't do basic things such as use your A+D keys to strafe or make more natural and fluid movements, and apparently realism also means using your gun will cause it to fly out of your hands (in the case in insurgency).

AA has always been free as the Army uses it was a recruitment tool, but that doesn't preclude anyone from playing it
